Byrne drew Cap better than any other artist I've seen. That Baron Blood issue is a top ten all-time funny book for me.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

Byrne's run on Cap is great...but I'm more partial to Zeck and Beatty's run.
Maybe the inker, Rubenstein, is the reasoning for it looking like Byrne. I do notice that DeZuniga's inks throughout the Infinity Inc run make Argondezzi's Pencils look similar to McFarlane's pencils."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

Yeah I loved Zeck's and Beatty's run. Zeck put some bulk on Cap he was an amazing Illustrator, His Punisher for me is the definitive version of the character....Last edited by kingdom warrior; Aug 28, '12, 12:20 AM.Comment

Big fan of Byrne AND Zeck's Cap runs. I too hold the Baron Blood 2-parter in high esteem. Can't forget the Roger Stern scripts on those.
Zeck is doing style guide art for DC these days, in particular Batman stuff. Almost all of the new stuff you see with comic Batman on it is Zeck. He's really slicked up his style for licensing. Hard to detect him, really.
