They need good idea people. It would have been better to have given Alex Ross, Simone, etc more say creatively.

I can tell they picked the wrong crew without reading many of the books.

If you look back at some of of Byrne's FF books, especially the later issues he drew them entirely with pen and sharpies. He did roughs with non-photo blue and just drew the whole thing in marker to save time. He still looks better than 90 percent of brush inkers.

I prefer a good inker over most pencillers.

Ross Andru had a really good inker for many years; he would put up with Ross pressing down to hard on the paper. Terry Austin was great because he would add backgrounds for other artist (Like Byrne). Klaus Jansen worked well over Frank Miller. There are many examples.

I wonder if Liefield tries to shortcut and "draw in ink". Thats something that alot of the newer artist like to do.

I manage a shoe store and I would hesitate hiring him. Maybe Jim Valentino can have Rob reboot his Shadowhawk book. They're about at the same talent level, just Jim's a more likeable guy. I really enjoyed the energy Rob brought to his books, and he did have some cool looking characters. He just couldn't so anything with them.

At this rate, all that will be left at DC is the Marvel Bullpen of the 90s...when the company went bankrupt.

I didn't realize they had left DC either. I know Winnick is leaving "Catwoman" but that's all I heard...

I realize he's a no-talent, anatomically incorrect, cross-hatched gorilla turd, but he does have 20 plus years in the industry, so I do pay attention to what he says regarding editorial practices. I'm guessing the Mayan calendar ends for DC in Janurary.
True but he reminds me of a band that was hot for a moment.....you liked them at the time then you look back and go Wow they were really crappy! What was I thinking?....same thing here he was a hot artist then he made a jean commercial then made some noise when he left marvel...then took a giant nose dive when he couldn't keep a real work schedule with his own books then he got thrown out by the image guys and spurted with his own company coming out with garbage that no one wanted......had a little come back with Marvel but drew big teets on Captain America and left to draw the other Jack kirby captain america(forgot the heros name) and even then Stephen platt finished it for him... he was pretty much on the down low after that...

He only gets attention because some of those Image guys hooked him up with work at marvel and DC otherwise he'd either be publishing more Youngblood garbage or working at a shoe store.....he's not exactly on anyones Radar when a hero needs to be fixed...let's call anyone BUT liefield.....

I'm sure Kessel when he saw Liefield's pencils was like "what the hell is all this garbage".....and fixed it like a good inker does.....

Rob would have done himself good if he would have gotten himself a good inker to go over his line without him crying about it.
Jim Lee always used Scott Williams and Jack Kirby and Mike Royer worked great together in the 70's

I remember shaking my head thinking this guy needs a good inker to keep him in check because he was a mess with his itchy scratchy work that he did on his own.....it's like no one could tell him dude stop drawing man **** and your anatomy is really out there....

What drives me insane that there's not an executive with a set a balls to tell Dildo and Lee hey nimrods! What the hell is all this and this is NOT working! What disrespect DC has for it's loyal fan base....trying to sell all these bad ideas and cosmetic changes...70 years worth of back stories that can easily be mined but NO! come up with concepts an ideas that PO a good chunk of their readers. sorry but i never liked when someone tried to force feed me junk I usually throw it back up.....

I'm so glad that I now live in back issue heaven and will wait it out when all the plaque is removed from DC..........
