Sound business move by Marvel. You could argue that the profit from the Avengers movie has already paid for the production budget for Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 for this year and Cap 2 for next year and they would still have some change left in the coffers.

It looks like another legendary group of MARVEL villains is going to be making it's big screen debut in IM3...
I've always kinda dug AIM, but I thought they usually tussled more with Capt. America than with Iron Man.
I do hope that they update their aesthetic AWAY from the glorified Bee Keeper look they're known for
Check out this pic from Iron Man 3 set. Is this real or fake. Just can't imagine this in the movie.

I guess by giving him a Bin Ladenesque look, it is in keeping with Raza and the 10 Rings organization in the middle east.

The armor is described as the most advanced Iron Man suit yet. Find out a few new tidbits about the Mark XLVII suit and where the story picks up post-Avengers. Sounds like The Mandarin will be just as tough as his comic book counterpart.

So, by saying Kinglsey's Mandarin is "the mouthpiece" for Guy Pearce, are they really going to rehash the first movie's storyline, where the "foreign" villain is actually a front for the more evil American?
I mean, they couldn't cast an Asian actor for the Mandarin because it wouldn't fly with their Chinese financiers, and they've apparently added some Chinese subplot of actors who help Iron Man. And lord only knows what kind of arc Iron Patriot will turn out to have in this scenario, because the odds of him being on the wrong side are very high.
For all the love Marvel films get, when you strip the storylines down, they have a real problem with the US military and corporations, while SHIELD gets crazy love as some black ops paragon of virtue who's beyond the law. It's very screwed up.
IRON MAN 3 will RULE the box office. What a bad *ss looking film. Superman you can go ahead and kiss the ring from the real man of steel. Or should I say Iron?

He should kiss the Mandarin's ring.

According to director Shane Black, Robert Downey, Jr.'s contract with Marvel Studios, which expires after the release of Iron Man 3, may extend in order for the actor to appear in a second Avengers film and at least one more Iron Man film. He said: "There has been a lot of discussion about it: 'Is this the last Iron Man for Robert [Downey, Jr.]?' Something tells me that it will not be the case, and [he] will be seen in a fourth, or fifth." Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that the character of Tony Stark will continue to be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe regardless of Downey's involvement. Reports also indicate that Downey may appear as Stark in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy film in 2014.

^Iron Man without Downy will sink fast. They need to drive a dump truck of money to that guy's door and beg him to stay.

I agree. Downey is the glue that essentially holds the entire Marvel universe together. You believe in the technology because he sells it so well and doesn't take himself overly serious which keeps the material from falling into camp. If he leaves, the whole thing becomes a costume flick. Here's what Downey thinks about it. I like his thinking!

You got that right brother!
Anybody else find Ben Kingsley's line delivery cool as hell?
