I'm usually a fan of Immonen's art but that cover looks bad to me...

I don't really like this concept all that much. Its very limited, as the 1963 XMen are eventually going to have to return to their own timeline, and isn't this whole thing going to muck with continuity and timelines?

Yes, that is the question isn't it? Or, is Marvel planning some DC type of continuity change? Hmm...guess we'll have to wait and see.

Everything old is new again. If they're going to go back to the original X-Men, stick with them PLEASE for at least a couple of years before you decide to start mucking around with them!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

                    Quote from Marvel:

Little else was known about the nature of the relaunch, though, other than the fact that Marvel remained adamant their upcoming publishing venture is “not a reboot.” Stories that happened, happened, they say; it’s all spinning out of the events of Avengers vs. X-Men.

So how long before Bendis tries to add Spidey to the line up??

I'm looking at this as kind of like Dark Avengers... Likely Bendis will run with it for a year or two before returning them to their own timeline.

In the meanwhile, you get a days of future past style storyline... Except from the other direction. I'm sure the original teenage x-men are none too happy how things turned out. Mutants on the brink of extinction, Scott bunking up with all kinds of bad guys (in their eyes) like Magneto, Emma Frost and Namor. Jean is dead.

Looking forward to an X-Men title where I don't need Wikipedia to figure out who everyone is!
