DC didn't even need Supes to beat down Cap, just a bunch of lawyers.

Could ya also say that that mindset might've been an influence in
their battle on the animated JLU where Cap "zaps" himself?

Its not a punch---but kinda the same idea.

I pick Superman. I think Shazam! is probably more Powerful, however he is Just a Kid.

Personally I always thought DC never used Captain marvel well......The only reason National went after Fawcett was because Cap was outselling Superman...and the bigger more powerful company wasn't having any of that.....Cap in the 40's dominated.... The movie Seriel was one of the best of that time.

So IMO Cap Knocks Superman out Cold.....Plus Hopefully they can make a better movie...

                      Let's see the Power
S-Wisdom of Solomon Making him wise so he really shouldn't have the mind set of a child . The wisdom of Solomon also provides him with counsel and advice in times of need.
H-Strength of Hercules Okay so we know he's powerful and has same strength as Superman.
A-Stamina of Atlas.......Using Atlas' endurance, Captain Marvel can withstand and survive most types of extreme physical assaults
Z- Power of Zeus.....this alone would wipe Superman off the map....this power enhances Marvel's other physical and mental abilities, grants magic resistance against all magic spells and attacks, as well as allowing for interdimensional travel. Marvel can use the lightning bolt as a weapon by dodging it and allowing it to strike an opponent or target. The magical lightning has many uses, including creating apparatus, restoring damage done to Marvel, or acting as fuel for magical spells
A- Courage of Achilles this Like the wisdom, gives Marvel superhuman amounts of inner strength on which to draw
M- Mercury's speed, Captain Marvel can move at greater than supersonic speeds This also enables him to fly

Also the Wish Fullfillment aspect that kids Love.......The idea that a Kid can transform into a superhero is pretty cool and why i always Liked Captain Marvel

It does seem as if DC has screwed Shazam! a bit over since he's been in thier camp.... I'm still waiting for Shazam to be DC's break out character of 05.., like they said he was going to be,.. they must have gotten Shazam! confused with Black Adam.

Captain Marvel (I refuse to call him "Shazam") hasn't been handled "well" by DC since the 70s, when he was pretty much in his own universe, as whimsical it it was. The Jerry Ordway "Power of Shazam" series was a nice attempt to bring a Golden Age flavor to the Marvel Family while updating them at the same time. Unfortunately, it was set in the modern DC Universe which doesn't necessarily always work for a character like Captain Marvel. I also liked Cap's appearances in the early Giffen/Dematteis/Maguire issues of "Justice League", humorous as they were. Something about calling him "Captain Whitebread" I found amusing.

But since "Power of Shazam" he's been handled, well...poorly. The whole "Trials of Shazam" is utter dreck. I was looking forward to the Jeff Smith mini-series but he lost my interest very quickly. Another botched attempt by DC was Roy Thomas' "Shazam!:A New Beginning" mini-series that sprang out of "Legends" (shame on Roy...he should have known better!).
