Joss Whedon's first 2 arcs were good but this last one (a space opera) is bleh! Very disappointing...

Waiting for the trade. The run isn't finished yet right? Still a Giant Sized Astonishing X-Men to go?
There has been much discussion online revolving around Kitty's absence from Messiah Complex.
It will be interesting to see what Warren Ellis' lineup will be when he takes over the title. -
Yes one giant-sized issue left.....this is becoming sloooooow and painful IMO.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

People still read XMen?You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I liked Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men and then just gravitated to Whedon's Astonishing X-Men afterward. Good stuff at first but, as mentioned by The Bat, this "Breakworld" stuff is boring. I haven't picked up a regular X-Men book in several years.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Hoping this will mean Cassaday can finish off Planetary FINALLY.Comment

The last X-Men I read was Age of Apocalypse. Which was (wait for the raised eyebrow) fascinating. I don't know why, but I followed X-Man for a few issues, hoping that something would happen.
I picked up the first couple of Astonishing trades - and they were pretty good. Got caught up on Runaways, and I like what Whedon has been doing with the time travel story so far.Shameless self-promotion -

Oops.
I originally had typed in a comment in there along with the pic that I hoped that Cassaday would considering doing another Cap project now that he's finally almost free of his Astonishing and Planetary work.
I know he wasn't entirely satisfied with his Marvel Knights run.
I think an ideal situation might be pairing him up with Brubaker on a Cap mini that is set in WW2. I've been digging the flashbacks in the Cap ongoing, and I think Cassaday has an affinity towards WW2 stuff (as seen in the pic above). Alternatively perhaps Garth Ennis?Comment

The new story arc is boring. I kept thinking it will get better next issue. Astonishing X-Men came off my reading list last issue.
I'm a fan of the 80's X-Men on the run, Morlock tunnels, Hellfire Club, Hellions, Marauders, etc. I liked Messiah Complex, best thing to happen in a while. Space operas are dull to me though.
Right now I'm reading:
Spirit
New Avengers (this one might not stay on the reading list for long...)
Ex Machina
Astro City
Daredevil
Ultimates (I really liked Ultimates 1 and 2, the new creative team is okay, but I'm not sure how long I'll keep getting this title)My Updated Want List:
Comic book original art
1970s Hulk or Spider-man metal garbage can
Custom Mego Nexus, Grendel
Have lots of comics and Marvel Legends figures for trades. Thanks!Comment

I love Astonishing. It's the first X-Men I've read since Jar Jar's first run on the book.Comment

Just wondering if anyone is planning sticking around/hopping on board for Warren Ellis' run on the title?Comment
