I almost never buy single issues - I prefer collections. All the recent single issues I bought were more like artsy small-time indie things.

I'm still picking up a good amount, though my interest in Avengers vs. X-Man has me buying a few title I wouldn't normally. Do I prefer the "classic" stuff. 100% But my intewrest in certain characters/teams will have me picking up the books until the day I die or they a re no longer published. As an exmaple I having been buying Amazing Spider-Man without fail for over 30 years. Even if I don't always agree with the direction I want to read the latest Spidey. Similar situation with Batman though I was only able to get those a semi regular basis.
Basically it's the fringe characters that get dropped depending on story.Comment

I usually wait until they put the whole run together and but the Graphic novel. I prefer hardbacks when I can get them. The constant rebooting and revamping is confusing and rather frustrating. All the tie ins and zombifications are old. I have to go to a bookstore and pour through the racks until I can make a decision. But I buy them nonetheless. I liked the Court of the Owls story line but its the only new comic I've read. The Batman/Superman are some of my favorites, Justice, and Kingdom Come. Alas, Alex Ross is not quite as prolific as some other artists. I got Rough Justice last year and have read it over and over. The Ultimate Kingdom Come in the Slipcase is one of the most beautiful of my collection.Comment

I liked Umbrella Academy, too. I ready Astro City (when it comes out) and I'm currently on Danger Club and I just finished off The Twelve. I love POWERS, but I wait for the trades. I'm realizing that I prefer superheroes to comics. (If that makes any sense.) I mean, if ASTRO CITY or POWERS were novels, I probably wouldn't read comics at all. Although, I LOVE comic book art. I could use some gallery-style books and some superhero novels.Comics just aren't worth $4-$5 for 5 minutes of reading.
Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

Prior to the New 52, I hit the comic store every week and probably bought about 40+ a month. Since then I have switched to getting my comics ordered on-line and average bout 20 a month.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

It would help alot if they sold digitals for around a buck. Maybe even a whole story arc at a discounted price in digital form. Of course, it helps when the material is worth reading.Comment

I buy the odd issue here and there, but mainly purchase back issues. I am just not a fan of the "uncompressed" story-telling present in so many modern comics. In fact, I recently won an auction on eBay: five VG/F 60's Captain Americas for under $5. Well worth the money, IMHO.Type Two: The Mego body, not the disease.Comment

I stopped buying comics a few years ago, sold off all my high priced ones.
Still have about 1000 leftover comics left stored in boxes in my basement...I still read and browse through them once in while.
Not in the least interested in the new comics, they just don't hold that magic like Golden, Silver, and Bronze age comics do, at least for me.
Having said that, I will always love my comic book superheroes.Last edited by Hector; Jul 16, '12, 6:14 PM.sigpicComment

I never bought too many comics, just read other peoples. Now I mostly get trade-paperbacks from the library, so I'm a publisher's worse case scenario.Comment

I stopped buying new comics in the early 1980s.
after that I was trying to buy back old ones my mom threw out
there were a few titles like mcfarlane's spiderman or watchmen or killing joke but that's it.
I would still pick up old ones if I could find them for cheap.Comment

I still pick up comics every Wednesday. I have never gotten too many DC/Marvel, but started reading Batman, and Batman Inc. I Like both of them so far. Titles I get every week as floppies are Walking Dead, Locke & key, Fairest, Orchid, Tank Girl, Morning Glories, Courtney Crumrin, a few other mini series, and a lot of manga. I usually buy the hardcovers of those when they come out as well.
As convienent as a digital copy would be, I love the look of a library of hardcovers on a shelf. The idea of hold a real book instead of a tablet is more appealing as well, I can't explain why.Comment
