I thought this thread was about the NEW Superman suit.......not lame superman 3 that no one but you defends......Mike felt the new suit looked like the color of the evil superman.....which is the Best and only part of Superman 3...Hindsight? Go look at Rotten tomatoes and see how warped most reviews think of that turd of a movie.... -
Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before KW....but the "junkyard scene is the only good thing about S3" is the battlecry of history battered comicbook geeks, and I personally think it's through warped hindsight.
I'll wait until the next SUPERMAN III thread to go on that offshoot again and explain why that is.... I'll try to stick more on topic
in THIS thread... the main point to be made is that S3's "Bad Supes" suit is a lot closer to RETURNS' suit than MOS's suit in color scheme.Leave a comment:

Outside of that junkyard scene there is NOTHING Viva about Superman 3 and 4, Superman returns is a thousand times better that both of those turkeys.....Leave a comment:

I think my main problem with the Returns suit was that damn muddy maroon color they used instead of red. When Superman streaks through the sky, it shouldn't look like blue and brown!I'll be in shock if you warm up to MOS's then... only because when I watched Returns,
I didn't even remember the suit was different than Reeve's.
They used the same suit on Smallville, but made the reds actually RED, and I didn't mind it as much.
Now THAT costume had the exact same colors as the evil Superman from III.

THe suit looks ok, and looks much better than the crap we are getting from Jim Lee and his pals at DC.Leave a comment:

The color resembles the evil Superman from Supes 3 ... which isn't a good thingLeave a comment:

The Problem with that is these are corporate movies and you still have to sell the idea to executives who want big returns for the Studio......Re: Hec--As opposed to hugely-budgeted "A-grade" superhero flicks, many of which have no heart & no plot.
I'm with MIB, & I'll take my cue from Capt. America & the Avengers: If the story is good, I can overlook the suit. But that'll never really be "Superman" to me.
Tights can always work if the director, costume designer, & actor care enough.
Remember not everyone reads comics or they did as kids and haven't since....plus this isn't a low budget movie where they use a cheapo Superman costume.....Bryan Singer so called cared for Superman and still didn't satisfy everyone.....and they had to reboot it again......
Tomorrow they will preview it at comic con, I'm sure the trailer will be shown before Batman I am crossing my fingers and holding my breath that they finally put together something really "Super".....Leave a comment:

Boots; like 'em... shield; acceptable update... cape; excellent color and length... the "belt" like thingie design makes me think of this classic pose

>I think a rubber superhero suit looks more dated and less alein
It WILL; 'cos years from now with the new reboots the rubber look will be associated with the 00's.
