Reed, Sue, Ben and Cap all look like Bronze Age versions on the tin, yet have that older vibe to their statues.... weird."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

It's all a bit Of an anochronistic mashup... The origin of these is the syroco statues from the first part of the twentieth century, essentially made of glue and wood shavings... So you had characters like Flash Gordon, Popeye, Superman, and other comics strips from the Golden Age that you'd win as a cheap carnival prize. Dark Horse has had so much success with this faux vintage line of figures that now they are reaching for characters from the latter half of the twentieth century where that rough hewn texture aesthetic doesn't quite work.
Witness comic book guy from the Simpsons, complete with that hand carved tool marks.

I have The Goon one, he is pretty sweet...
Really like some of the Mavrel ones, but they are too pricey for what they are to really collect them.Comment
