I'm actually glad I read those spoilers. If they hold true it makes more interested in seeing this trilogy play out with the final film than I have been so far, even with all of the trailers I've seen I just haven't been on board...

I would love a Batman tv show thats serious and directly inspired from the early material (or even from the new look '60s - early 70s version)

It's weird until Crisis on Infinite Earths, new directions in comics a lot of times were played down when creators left and new ones were brought on. There are exceptions. Batman's "New Look" was publicized in the mid 60s when Julie Schwartz took over the character, but on Fantastic Four some great artists were asked to do it like Kirby for years.

It seems Nolan has a beginning, middle and end to his Batman story and it might be time for a total reboot. With the success of Amazing Spider-Man, I'm assuming they will do the origin again. I'd like to see a spandex wearing Batman, but I guess that's just asking too much when Superman has to loose his trunks.

I'd also like to see Robin, who is not 18 or 21. I'd also like to see a Batman film where he's busting up organized crime.

You know, with long-form stories having their hey day on TV, it would be cool to me to have a TV series. With 21 or 22 episodes a year, you could cover a lot of ground. It'll never happen, but on TV a show could focus on the detective work and the relationships and son much better than a TV movie.

THat's an interesting point. I think if they were truly hyping it up, we'd already be flooded with snippets of the new direction. It's still weird to me. I can't help but wonder if it's gonna end up like the comics; where reboots happened all the time, nobody cared, and life went on.... until the late 80's or so when it became a major press point.

Maybe comics were taking THEIR cue from movies. That was the era of the designer comic, and movies have long used the names of the stars and directors as a sales point.

Why does Nolan leaving after this third one equal the "end of the series"?
I really dislike WB's hype of "this is the last one".
Yeah, the last one...until the next one comes along!

I hope the fourth one gets back a bit more of the comic book feeling, and why not with Robin or Batgirl?
I like what Noland and Bale have done so far, but here's to the future, not the end!

It's the end of Nolan's specific "Bat" story.... and no one' s hiding that the Bat-franchise will have a "future"
a.k.a. another Batman movie.

With Nolan and Bale "bailing" after this one, it only makes sense to reboot the series since a new incoming director and actor will want to have their stamp on the production and not necessarily have to follow the groundwork that someone else laid down....
