Jerry Ordway 70's Shazam tv poster

Here's a rather blurry image of what appears to be Jerry Ordway's rendition of the cast of the seventies live action TV version of Captain Marvel, Shazam!

Anyone going to SDCC want to grab some extras of these to hand out to ravenous Mego Museum fans dying to get ahold of one?

Perfect marriage of artist and subject matter! Ordway does some of the best likeness out there. Loved his 89 Batman movie adaptation. His Superman: The Movie paintings are stunning.

I hope this is the DVD package as well! Jackson Bostwick!!!

I have no idea how, but this poster has to be mine...

I'm kind of surprised Alex Ross wasn't involved in this. I guess he's just not in tune with DC at all anymore. He is a HUGE fan of the Shazam show. It's what made him such a fan and advocate for Captain Marvel.

Not that I'm complaining. I love Ordway. He's always been one of my favorite artists.

For the first time I have to say Oh goodness NO! I'm just not feeling Alex work lately.....I'm glad they went with Ordway he had a good run with Cap and his Power of Shazam graphic novel is my all time fav revamp of Cap.....plus from the looks of the design of the poster he nailed it.......

Love Jerry's work. Just got this off of ebay from the man himself. It's a prelim page from JSA 23. Does the kid look familiar:

I would be interested in one too if anyone can score a few of these.

Yeah, Jerry's one of my favorites. His Adventures of Superman is my favorite take on the character. It was epic!

DVD officially announced, and they went with a mediocre photo cover over the awesome Ordway piece! You can't even see Bostwick's lightning bolt. Phoned in design.

Yeah, the DVD cover is weak. I'll still buy it but ....weak.

I love the Warner Archive but the one drawback is you can't play their DVDs on a computer or on any kind of device that has a recorder.

In my household, that limits me to one TV or the kid's player. I watch the majority of my "nerdstuff" on my PC while I toil away. It's hard to get the wife excited about a "Man from U.N.C.L.E" fest on the big screen. She's awesome but she's not THAT awesome.

^I'm glad we're getting this series at last, but it deserved at true release. This is better than nothing, and I'll buy them too.

I didn't know about the MOD discs not playing on computers. Looks like the family will have to suffer through "ShazamFest 2012!!!"
