Brace yourselves: Marvel comics 'attempts' a "reboot" but not really.

Is it just me or does this article pretty much say that Marvel comics is attempting some kind of reboot or new era?

    Avengers/X-men forming one team?

I'm confused. Is this Marvel Comics idea of a reboot? An official black Nick Fury it looks like in the regular universe.

    So confused.

It's going to be a half-assed "reboot" just like DC's... "Uncanny Avengers" is just one title, there will still be two separate Avengers and X-Men teams but there will be at least one cross-bred team featuring members from both.

The black Nick Fury is Nick Fury Jr., the white guy's son...

This is more of a marketing strategy than a continuity reboot. It seems Marvel is shuffling its creative deck on a lot of titles, introducing new No. 1s and changing a bit of the status quo without changing continuity.

Really wish DC hadn't been as radical and done something more like this.

DC stole some thunder so they are just fighting back.
Plus The Avengers movie was so big they need to tie the Big X-men universe tighter to it so they can overwhem DC again.

I agree. But for whatever reason put a No. 1 on the same story and it generally sells better. If I had an active collection going, I'd be more irritated. It's got to be crazy to keep track of all the restarts and resets. I just read em and try to get rid of them, now.
