That's Nick Fury's son, created to bridge the gap between the comics (where he was white in the mainstream Marvel Universe, black in the Ultimate Marvel Universe) and the movies (where he's played by Samuel L Jackson, based on the Ulimate version, who in turn is based on Jackson himself)

The "chipmunk" is Rocket Racoon, a "cosmic" space character who is featured prominently in Guardians of the Galaxy (which will also be an upcoming movie from Marvel Studios)

why's Wolverine wearing Iron Man gloves? And is the other eyepatch guy white Fury or Cable? If its Cable, why the eyepatch?

I'm usually in lock-step with anyone criticizing Quesada, but that is one very cool print, IMHO. I am very interested in that Cyclops costume. I might actually have to check out this series now.

All of those designs are bad, except for Marvel Girl because she's wearing her original 60s uniform...I really don't understand the need for all of the extra seams and piping and trim and whatnot. Now granted I'm not wearing superhero spandex but i don't see any if that "unnecessaryness" on today's fabrics...

^^^^ ... I can't really stand any of those Costumes.
Cap's does look more Movie-like. But that image, doens't really make me wanna buy the Book.
Someone once Told me ..., when you realize you are Old ..., it's when Fashion , Trends and new Ideas Don't make any sense to you, and you don't care for em.

Well, I hate Todays Music, Most of the Crap on TV, Clothes, Haircuts, and Now it seems most Comic Costumes. I have just realized, that I am Old.

BTW ... That Image of Jean, in her costume from 1963 of whatever, Next to all of them costumes in 2012...., Looks Stupider than the Costumes themselves.

Rocket Raccoon. Featuring early pre Hellboy Mike Mignola art.

More recently a member of the new Guardians of the Galaxy, which is likely the version coming to the big screen in 2014. Rocket Raccoon's currently a cult fan favorite, and hs prominence here (some are speculating that this s Hickman's new Avengers lineup) suggests that he is likely going to be in the movie. He's certainly toyetic.

Nick Fury Jr recently debuted in Battle Scars, where he lost an eye, but gained a father. Conveniently, Nick Fury's other son, Jake Fury AKA ScorpioII recently was killed off.

Maybe Jean's presence back in his life, can bring back to old Scott.
I actually really like the new confident Scott that has emerged from his relationship with Emma Frost, and Frost herself as proven to be a very complex character after Morrison, Joss Whedon, Warren Ells and Matt Fraction have written interesting story lines with her. I enjoyed that scene where Magneto seemingly attacks Utopia, only to have it revealed that he's come to kneel before Scott. There is another fantastic scene where Scott needs to make a decision impacting the fate of Mutantkind, where he consults with both Xavier and Magneto separately, while you've got guys like Namor and Beast standing by awaiting the outcome. The schism storyline was quite good as well, loving the Wolverine and the X-Men title.

Teen Jean is actually bringing her own teen Scott with her.

Granted, all the fiddly-bits REALLY busy up the outfits, but I suspect the reason you see so much of it is 'cos of modern printing. Back in the day you could get away with an outfit that was essentially a body painted nekkid guy 'cos the print process of the day couldn't accurately reproduce anything more complicated. Nowadays you've got high res digital, which can reproduce almost anything with no appreciable change in cost, with a million colour palette; so simpler designs look kinda blah. (All that essentially open space and such.) Alex Ross can get away with it 'cos he uses insanely complicated lighting to bring out the textural details of what he does. (He also takes a zillion years to finish anything....)

                        ^^^ agree.

You can see the moment where artists caught up with modern printing when guys like Kevin Maguire and Art Adams started drawing all the scales on Cap's uniform as opposed to the few squiggles which used to merely suggest it.

I remember those first few issues of Marvel Fanfare printed on glossy bright stock in full bleed colour, finally doing justice to the linework that Micael Golden was putting into hs work, and Terry Austin's fine ink lines (I believe he was one f the few using technical pens at that time? )

Ditto all that detail that Art Adams put into Spiderman's web lines.... Picked up by McFarlane and the rest of the image crew.

                            Ok, she's coming back.
But when is she dying again?
I like to prepare myself for that terribly shocking and unexpected event...

                            Btw, is Nightcrawler still dead?
And when is he coming back?

Nightcrawler still dead, but there are dozens of Bamfs currently running around the Jean Grey Institute run by Wolverine built atop the ruins of Xavier's school. My guess is that they will somehow tie into his eventual resurrection.
