That's Nick Fury's son, created to bridge the gap between the comics (where he was white in the mainstream Marvel Universe, black in the Ultimate Marvel Universe) and the movies (where he's played by Samuel L Jackson, based on the Ulimate version, who in turn is based on Jackson himself)
The "chipmunk" is Rocket Racoon, a "cosmic" space character who is featured prominently in Guardians of the Galaxy (which will also be an upcoming movie from Marvel Studios)

Hmmmm....
Isn't "Jean Grey comes back to life" sort of a running gag in the Marvel universe?
>am wondering why he needs the swords.
It IS the 80's again, so.... ninjas!
>Looks like the Marvel heroes have been visiting the DCnU heroes' tailor...
Among other things:
It's always amazed me how much DC and Marvel.... borrow.... from each other. I think every book, event and character from one has an analog in the other.

If Jean Comes back...Scott has to dump Emma Frost fast.
But will a Jean Grey, untouched by the future even recognize the man Scott's become. Right now his views on protecting Mutant kind have become as radical as Magneto's. Which is why Magneto so willingly follows him.
Maybe Jean's presence back in his life, can bring back to old Scott.Leave a comment:

I have not read comics since 1996. How did they explain Nick Fury turning from white to black? Also, why is there a chipmunk with a big gun at the bottom of the picture?Leave a comment:

Hope's probably going to have to be sacrificed to save the world from Phoenix entity, is my guess.
I like Jean and Scott together. Beast goes well anywhere to me. Never been a big fan of Angel or Iceman, although I really liked the Hulk annual Byrne did with them forever ago.
I wouldn't mind having a situation where I could read an X-Men book and not feel confused, but I'm sure the fans of the current series hate to hear comments like that. Haven't read the X Books regularly since the mid 1990s and haven't really missed them.
Don't care at all for Hulk with armor and hair gel to get the slick look.
Miss Thor's cape and am wondering why he needs the swords.Last edited by madmarva; Jul 4, '12, 1:05 AM.Leave a comment:

Bendis commented on Jean Grey's return to the Marvel U via time travel, explaining, "It’s the one thing X-Men fans have always asked for is: They want Jean Grey back. But they want Jean Grey. Not reincarnated Jean, or the ghost of Jean. Well, you’re getting Jean back. And Jean is gonna be looking at a world that rattles her."

I LOVE Jean Grey and I'm really getting sick of them killing her off(thank you Grant Morrison
). From the picture that Marvel is showing on SuperHero Hype...it's looking like she won't be returning as Phoenix...but as Marvel Girl instead. That to me is a good thing. Take "The Phoenix" out of the equation...and there's no reason to kill her off again.

Its a comic, of course she's coming back. BUt, just remember all the great things Bendis has done for the Avengers before you get your hopes up.Leave a comment:

Interesting.
But I can definitely foresee problems, time paradoxes, etc...It would mean no more than I guess appearance for Jean. She couldn't stay in the future, without messing up the past.
