Snyder's revision wasn't bad but I don't know why they felt the need to deconstruct parts of Dini's version, other than just to do it to show that the New 52 is different than the old DCU.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -
Mr. Freeze was an also-ran villain who lived off his appearances on the 60s Batman show for decades. That's the only thing that had him approaching the upper echelon of Batman villains. Few remember that DC actually killed him off (via the Joker) in 1991's "Robin II" mini-series. The next year Paul Dini wrote "Heart of Ice", still one of the best BTAS episodes, and suddenly Mr. Freeze wasn't so lame anymore!

Totally agree. Mr. Freeze was pretty much just a name until Dini's work with the character on BTAS. Dini/Timm actually turned him into one of my favorites. That show was really great at distilling the best parts of what made up Batman and then filling in some very cool gaps.Comment

What Freeze uniform would you consider iconic?
I always figured Mego would have used the '78 "Capt. Cold rip-off" suit.
After all, a boiler suit is not very "cool."WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I've always liked George Sanders the best. I really liked how even though he looked ordinary, they had to zone his hideoout in freezing temps for him in blue and warmer temps for his flunkies in red. It's true Otto P. and Eli W's characters were more comic book like, but it took some imagination for George's rendition of the character.
