Wow! Good news for the reboot. It's off to a great start. Isn't it great to see films about our classic heroes prosper in the big leagues? I never could have dreamt this in the 70's. We are truly living in the golden years of the superhero... for film anyway.

Sort of expected due to Spidey being by far the most popular American comic book superhero in Asia.

Spidey is more popular than Batman and Superman over there...Asians relate to Spidey more...they love his acrobatics...in tune with martial arts...plus the mask is like their pro wrestling...especially in Japan.

Here in the States...Spidey is going to do solid respectable numbers...but it's not going to break any records...for one...aside from being a rather new reboot...three weeks after its opening...Dark Knight Rises comes into town...and Spidey is going to suffer for it.

...and this is coming from a huge Spidey fan...my second favorite superhero after Superman.

Having said that...I can't wait to see it...

I don't think the DKR is going to do as well as DK did. My wife couldn't wait to see the second one because of the Joker, but has absolutely zero interest in this one because she has no idea who Bane is, and apparently she's not alone. She tells me most, if not all her co-workers feel the same.
Heath Ledger was electrifying in the previous film's trailers. "Let's put a smile on that face!" still sends chills down my spine! I absolutely couldn't freaking wait to see DK, but I'm totally meh about this one.
The die hard Batman fans are gonna be there, but I just don't feel this one has the must-see vibe going that the last one did. I also noticed the toys, including the movie masters, are not selling here at all. My Wal-Mart put them out almost two weeks ago and they've only sold one Alfred figure so far.

Perhaps...but it's still gonna rob Spidey's third week's box office's numbers...there's no doubt about that.

Just wished they were both released about two months apart, lol.

Yeah, there is no getting around the fact Dark Knight will take down Spidey. I do agree with Hector. It's always better when similar genre's do not compete with one another. Because ultimately it hurts the movement when the public sees too much of the same product back to back. Too much saturation of a concept is bad for the marketplace. At least it's not as crowded as what it was last year. That was insane.

Next year is gonna be awesome as well.

Check out the 2013 Summer Comic Book superhero releases (Thor will be released in November though)...with The Man of Steel starting things off...

Oh wow. A new FF reboot and Inhumans film in 2013? I hope they start principle photography soon if they're going to make that date.

Inhumans? FF reboot? I doubt this very much. I think casting at the very least would have to be already done by now for 2013 release. Also, there would be more on the net about this. Would love to see a Inhumans movie though.
