Op - GL is a good point.

Either the humor is going to be so blatant, people will get it going in, or it's going to be so absurd, people will be confused and wait it out.

I wonder if Marvel is aware they're constantly remaking 80's movies.

    Thor - Highlander

    Iron Man - Robocop

    Cap - Raiders

    FF - Misfits of Science

    and Guardians o/t Galaxy?

There were a few scenes: the reckless driving, testing the planes, him guessing the Oath, the flying/training scene on Oa, and then him showing Tom how cool the ring is. Plus, he has several humorous one-liners throughout the film as well. But I know you don't like the film and don't share the same opinion as me. That's fine.

I personally liked GL so I got it, but I get that people are subjective. Some thought GL was too light yet complain that MoS is too dark, and think that Thor: TWD is a perfect blend despite having more humor than the two others combined.

I have no connection to the series at all. Haven't read a thing about it. When I was 10(?) maybe I remember a neighbor showing me a comic. In it there was a guy with Caps shield. I was always under the impression that they were Marvel's answer to Legion of Superheroes. Which didn't interest me.
        Then I saw the trailer.
I'm stunned by how fun and awesome it looks. It reminded me of when I was a teenager and my friends and I played RPG's like Cyberpunk or Champions or D&D. We would make these off the wall characters and get in all kinds of in game trouble. Just like these guys in this movie. I can't wait.

I wasn't excited until I saw the trailer. Then blam! Reminds me of my beloved firefly.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

The more I see of this the more I think I'm going to enjoy it. Kind of has a Flash Gordon vibe to it, which is one of the most fun movies ever made.

I agree, the film just looks like a whole lot of fun.

This looks like a blast. When was the last time we had a new, FUN space-faring movie?

I know Terry mentioned the FG vibe, but I'm getting a sense of another favorite of mine, The Fifth Element. Just enough of a balance between a smartass lead and assorted unsavory characters placed in impossible positions mixed with some humoruous moments and some impressive space visuals. I think this looks amazing, but I've been fooled before.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
