Finally...WB got Batman RIGHT! So...why mess it up now, and recast Him in the JLA movie! Same goes for Supermman(I also liked "returns").
Yes Bat I also "realize" your point too...of "good writing being a good thing"
for a franchise...but that wasn't MY point. My point is the so-called "greedy"
movie studios have to make a profit---when they see X3 bury BB and SR
---they take notice and act accordingly because the studios are primarily
in this to make big money----and I see nothing wrong with that as I'm not
personally hurt if I feel that writing for my favorite hero is mediocre or
lackluster----as long as money is made in my favorite franchises the
franchise will endure and that's the most important thing to me---and,
    again, obviously the studios

Opinion on what makes "good writing" is mostly opinion and you can
argue that til the day you die

However...you can't argure a financial figure---it is what it is

Ya see...that's where We differ huedell. I would rather not see My favorite Characters on the big Screen AT ALL...if they are going to be handled POORLY. If You settle for what ever Crap the Studio feeds You(and give Them Your Money)...then They will continue to feed You Crap!

^^^Well, its not just me that's responsible for a "crap" trend---its the buying public

---and if that "crap" (as you call it) sells well to that buying public
from movie to movie then there's no reason to stop making the movies
AND there's no reason for people to stop going to see simillar movies too.

Yeah---I might not like a movie.
And I can talk about not liking it ...and debate about it for pages too
        if the mood strikes me.

But here's the thing ---(and, here's the difference that I see between you & I)
one thing I won't do is complain that it got made in the first place...why?...
well, because movie studios reserve the right to try to put bread on their families tables
just like everyone else...even at the expense of ...ahem..."hardcore" fans being
upset if something isn't written just how they think it should be.

I keep hearing that series television will be shut down until at least the beginning of next year - longer still depending on when the strike is resolved.

Personally, I'd just as soon stock up on box sets. Chuck and Reaper have been the only cool new shows this season.

I really try not to pay too close attention to any super-hero movie news. Especially the two recent announcements about Justice League and Teen Titans. It's just my two cents, but I think that the DC machine is looking at the Marvel machine and seeing productivity that leads to a certain amount of "success". Spider-Man, The X-Men, Captain America, The Hulk, Dr. Strange, The Fantastic Four and Iron Man have all crossed over from comic books to either live action, animation or both. They've generated revenue. Marvel has more properties in play in the movies and on television than DC. I think that since Marvel announced an Ant-Man movie, DC blinked, and somebody said, Ant-Man?! What the - ?! And then they maybe counted up how many movies featured marvel characters compared to how many featured DC characters. Ant-Man?! What the - ?! Really? Ant-Man?! Whos' next? Hawkeye?!

Honestly, I'm a bigger fan of DC characters than Marvel. I've enjoyed the Marvel movies. I've had to accept that a movie is a movie. A movie about Spider-Man, or The X-Men, or Fantastic Four has absolutely nothing to do with a comic book about those same characters. Comic books are comic books, movies are movies, TV shows are TV shows. I've liked the three Spider-Man movies for completely different reasons from why I have to read Ultimate Spider-Man the week it comes out.

I tried reading All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder. I just couldn't do it. So, I read The Batman Strikes and the Paul Dini trades.

Right now, DC is struggling to present it's two best known characters. That's pretty sad. Pretty sad that nobody can figure out or get a handle on Batman and Superman. Except Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. Maybe when the writer's strike is settled they should have a crack at producing a live action Justice League.

I don't expect to see a Justice League movie any sooner than I would a Titans movie or Flash, Wonder Woman or Green Lantern.

I think all DC movies are crap compaired to the Marvel Ones. I Liked Superman Returns, & Batman Beginings, Even Constantine,.. if you wanna count it, but When is DC gonna wake up, & pull thier movies away from Time Warner / Warner Bros With thier movies, it is killing them . IMO, DC comics, toons & the toys are better than anything from the Marvel Camp, but when it comes to the movies, they constantly fail, with their "lack of " . They need to **** thier properties out like Marvel did, then perhaps we would get some credible movies, rather than perposed "what ifs". Sure you wouldn't see a JLA movie, but with the characters involed, I dunno if I would want to see that. I am sure if they made it, it would be far too crammed into th Movie . You would probably leave the movie dissapointed. I would think a Green Lantern Movie or a Green Arrow Movie, or even a Flash movie would just be Better. Flash's TV Series was great,.. & he has so many Baddies. With Green Lantern, space , sectors, aliens, Sinesto,... Man it would be a fantastic movie.

GREEN LANTERN is just DYING to be made into a movie in my opinion

The whole idea of an Earth guy being entrusted with powers from
aliens and becoming a traditional superhero type is just SUCH a solid premise

DC better watch that whoever has the rights to GREATEST AMERICAN HERO doesn't
beat 'em to it---and do a great job with it

On the bright side of things...I'm EXTREMELY happy to finally have ONE good Batman Movie I can enjoy(and I'm sure another this Summer!)...plus Singer made "two" good X-Men Movies, and Rami made 3 good Spiderman Movies!

All of these things...I thought I'd NEVER see! So...I guess I should be content with that.

I thought this had been planned to be a animated movie like beowolf and polar express....hopefully the cancellation or hiatus will give them a chance to rethink plot, storyline, dialogue, set pieces, costume, origin, referances to the comics....you know all those things they KEEP getting wrong in comic movies.

I saw a featurette a while back on G4, stating that the JLA movie was shelved, even before this. Apparently it's not just the writer's strike, there were issues with the script and the cost of production. Also the producers were quoted as saying that the actors were "mediocre at best."
