      >It is pretty sucky that they are launching yet another Batman spinoff title as well as another Wildstorm related one...

It's a catch-22 for them: they know another Batman will sell.... somewhat anyhoo; but the further you go down the heirarchy the bigger the risk, and nobody will risk their job to take a chance. That's why you see the same heroes fighting the same bad guys over and over.... especially in the movies where the money makes a risk even LESS viable.

      >And yet a few characters that seem to be perfect relaunch material still languish in limbo...Plastic Man, Kamandi, Secret Six, Metal Men, Doom Patrol, WW2 Sgt Rock, 'Mazing Man, The Warlord...

Yeah.... another part of the problem is that using the same characters over and over wears them out. You've cultivated the expectation of Batman in your audience (for example) to the exclusion of anything else they might like; and when they get tired of Batrman there's nothing left. So they swing over to Marvel for a bit, until the next big non-event, then they come back....

      >Hopefully the word & Sorcery book will be somewhat similar to All-Star Western with Amethyst as the main feature & Beowulf part of a rotating backup series, with Starfire, Claw, Nightmaster, Hercules Unbound, etc.

Oh man, Nightmaster! THAT'S going back! I'm surprised anthologies aren't more popular these days. It's a chance to test the waters, keep stuff that's a little different in the public eye, and it worked bigtime for the Japanese stuff. I suspect the problem is cost; if there are three series in the book and you only like one, you're paying $4 for 8 pages of story. Digital would be AWESOME for that, IF they kept the price down.... which they don't.

The other 3 cancellations are Capt. Atom, Ressurection Man and Voodoo.

No intrest. They just keep coming up with new stuff without acknowledging with the other books failed. The only replacement book I've found engaging so far is "World's Finest".
I've also dropped a number of books.

No surprise there...three series that no one was asking for in the first place...

What books have folks hung onto in the new 52 at this point?

I'm still following Aquaman, Green Lantern, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Batman, Batgirl, Batman Inc, Action Comics, and just started picking up Justice League Dark as of the latest issue with the new creative team. (not counting my Vertigo and DC all ages title Superman Family Adventures)

That's still more DC books for me than prior to the reboot. Looks like they are getting really aggressive with how all the lower tier books perform.

For me it's Aquaman, Green Lantern, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Batman and I just started with Dial H, G.I. Combat, World's Finest and Earth 2 but I'm not sure those last four have a long shelf life with me. In addition, iZombie (which is ending soon), Fables and Fairest from Vertigo. And Superman Family Adventures. I think that's it for regular monthly titles from DC for me. Prior to the reboot I was buying a LOT more DC.
I have been buying more independent stuff since the reboot.

Nothing, I tried following Action, OMAC and Frankenstein digitally and none kept my interest.

At this point it would be Batman, Detective, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman Inc, Justice League, Justice League Int (which we know is going away), World's Finest and Suicide Squad. Green Lantern and Aquaman may get another chance down the road, but had to dropped for now as I'm picking up more Marvel titles than usual due to AvsX.

I'm picking up the Shadow as well. Is Steed and Peel just reprints of the Morrison/Gibson series from eclipse or are they doing new stuff too?

All I've left is AllStar Western, the GL books, & a couple of the Vertigo titles Saucer Country, Fairest, & I Zombie. I collect no Marvels, and find my taste in indy boks is running to stuff like Walking dead, Rachel Rising, Thief of Thieves, maybe a few others.

I think it's just reprints...the last two issues aren't by Morrison...

I'm the sucker of the bunch: Superman and Action, Batman and Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, Justice League, Green lantern, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Nightwing, batman Inc, Earth 2, World's Finest, Dial H for Hero, Smallville, Batman Beyond, SUperman Family, Green Lantern cartoon.

Oddly enough my favorite DC books at the moment are Wonder Woman and Flash, which of the Big 7 have always been my least favorite. I've liked the issues of the Red Hood, which I've read, but I'd rather buy other characters.

I really liked what Snyder did with Batman in the previous continuity, but this Court of Owls thing has lost velocity for me. It's really bringing too much supernatural to Batman. Yeah, I know he's battled vampires and werewolves (255 classic O'Neil/Adams story is one of my favorites) at times in the past, and he relies on spooky imagery and scare tactics in his battle with crime, but the character shouldn't be rooted in the supernatural. Batman is as much a scientist and a detective as anything.

The last couple of issues of Justice League have been interesting, but it's almost like the JLA aren't the stars of the book anymore, focusing on Trevor and this new villain. It's frustrating. I just want to read a JLA story I haven't already read.

I've got 2 issues of Action and 3 or 4 of Superman that I haven't read yet.

Aquaman and Green Lantern are both on a too slow of a burn for me, but I have enjoyed the stories.

After the zero issues, I'm thinking of going the trade route. But, it's hard for me to wait.
