I was checking out the upcoming soundtrack by James Horner...look at track 10...apparently this important part in Spidey's origin does happen.

Thank God! I was concerned about them changing up the origin. I saw a new clip with the Lizard stalking Gwen, which I thought looked pretty good. I'm feeling better about what I'm seeing but will know better once I plant my tail in the seat that opening weekend.

Yeah. I thought that looked good too. I think they've been very smart to release a bunch of clips. Because for people like me who had strong reserves, that has helped carry me across the divide. Now like anything I still have to see it before I can weigh the sum total of what they've got. But I am feeling some relief in the new footage. It does read more thought out than it was originally depicted. And I do agree there is more of a comic book Spidey in those scenes than what I saw in previous trailers. I'm finally seeing stuff that DOES work, so I have to be honest and say this film holds more hope than previously suggested. And believe me. I don't like to be on no campaign of dogging movies. I know there are some folks who get alot of mileage out of hating films and rooting for their demise. That's worrisome. But for myself, I just try to be honest about what I see based on my expectations. And with this, it looks measurably better now than how it looked three months ago.

One thing I noticed right away is it seems to have more of a real world feel to it. The police chase scene in particular felt less staged and definitely less CGI than the Raimi films.

I think the editing plays a big role in that depiction. Especially in that police chase. Your getting alot more cuts of him hitting from spot to spot and if you've noticed, they are adding impact effects as he "sticks". So the director seems to be trying to give his movement a more visceral effect.

Still not liking the hint in the previews that Pete's dad is behind him getting his powers.
