    Teen Titans "Lost" Annual

So what'd everyone think? Originally supposed to be something like "TT Swingin' Elseworlds Special"...I think I like that title better, although I believe DC is now shying away from the Elseworlds label, what with many of the Elseworlds projects now being incorporated into the Multiverse.

Anyway...I thought the Annual was pretty decent, although typical Bob Haney, sorta wacked-out. The artwork was old-school with a modern twist (Jay Stephens/Mike Allred) and I really dug the Nick Cardy sketch pages in the back, which were kinda groovy in a far-out happening way!

That's exactly what I'd thought. With Haney writing, I'd expected a kind of goofy story, and that's what I got. The Stephens/Allred art was good, but I also would have liked seeing Allred draw it himself.

The Cardy sketchbook at the end just showed how absolutely incredible his art was. Of course, Cardy's been on my "most underappreciated artists" list for some time now.

I liked it! The artwork was great. Much better than the usual steroid powered muscles of today. And as for the goofiness, I love those types of stories! You know, I'd prefer to believe that's what happened to Kennedy instead of the truth.

The only thing that got me in the issue was the random Wonder Girl love thing. I'm not sure if I missed something important in the issue, like hypnotism, but doesn't it seem as though she fell in love a bit too quickly and for no reason with that hairy guy? That was a bit weird.

Anyways, overall, I wish issues like this were being released instead of the comics of today. Like I said before, I can't stand a lot of the artwork today. It gets downright disgusting looking sometimes. And as for the stories, it seems as though every superhero comic is WAY too serious. I mean, I understand some stories have to have a serious edge to it, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a goofy story once in a while.

Yeah, no kidding. Are Amazonian women easy?

        LOL!

I liked the whole referencing the mop-top Beatles and renegade hairy Hendrix.

Well, as you know my plight with comic stores, I didn't get it. I think the loss of the local shop has pushed me to give up on monthlies. I tried signing up at TFAW, and it was a serious pain in the posterior.

D'oh! I didn't realize it was coming out so soon. I think they "retro-solicited" this when they finally decided to release it. I'll have to ask Charlie to send me a copy next shipment.

TT Year 1 is great so far. Looks like its going to end up being a coming of age story for Aqualad.

There's some promising Titans stuff out there right now...if they could only get Judd Winick away from the franchise

I liked the way the Titans changed American history...y'know with Kennedy and stuff.

I wish Winnick would go exclusive to Marvel, then I would have absolutely no chance of even seeing him. He'd be great on Stab Force.
