Iron Man 3 and how you should display your Hot Toys
I was actually going to post this exact same photo, clemso! Ya beat me to it! I like how the armors are all displayed---it perfectly fits in with Tony's ego. It's kind of like The Iron Cave!
The only thing I would've loved to have seen in one of the compartments would've been his classic IM armor from the book. Then I would've had a complete geekgasm!!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
Huh so he got the first suit back? It looks to be in better shape than I remember from Ironman 1.
Like someone else said. With Stark's ego, he would probably build a MK 1 suit just for his trophy room set up, lol. I hope that they make a movie Stealth armor. That would be cool.

Movies sometimes skip alot of time and don't explain things (because they assume watchers know that). For instance, Tony could have came back from Iraq after he created that first armor and designed another version of it and was building on it behind closed doors for a bit until he came up with the sleek silver one which he later added color (that you see in the movie).
It really depends on the director.
If this flick came from the 80s it would have had a black screen or for instance maybe indicating "two months later" or some sort of time indication but most modern directors chose not to do that anymore in order to cut back on minutes.

In the comics, Tony re-created the original suit several times over, for various reasons , including making a set out of aluminum to tackle the Melter !
Melters ray only melts steel so the aluminum armour was impervious to it.
Plus Tony always had multiples of each armor, stashed in his various factories and facilitys all over the world.
