Just saw this pic this morning and it seems to me that the marketers don't want to show off their 'updated' suit to the masses.

Looks like he's wearing black trunks which wouldn't have been a bad idea, since many times the GA version his trunks were drawn black with a red highlight..........In the end I want a Great movie, Superman beating the crap out of bad guys........doesn't matter if he has undies or not....

Ya gotta remember: this is FAN ART, not an official release from WB/DC Comics, although the only shot of him that they have released thus far does hide his nether regions in a pool of shadow, too.

There was a photo of Cavill in costume taken on set last summer and he had not trunks on. The photo was on the superman homepage. He might not have been fully dressed, but I don't think he's going to have trunks.

What's weird is it works for Spider-Man. The suit looks like it's made from athletic jersey-type material.

Looks terrible on Supes though.

Didn't Superman already wear something similar in the comic books already? I remember seeing a Brave and the Bold cartoon Superman figure with a red and black costume. What is the correct term these days for what superheroes wear? Uniform, suit, costume or something else?
