^It may get cleaned-up, but as I understand it, these MOD releases are pretty much no frills. Sadly, this seems the way old-TV-shows-to-DVD is going. The golden age of DVD on TV seems to be over.

Took a while, but should be well worth the wait!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I want this on BluRay. I don't even think Star Trek technology could perform that miracle. I might send Jackson a copy to have it signed if this DVD comes to fruition.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I think the golden-age of DVDs period is over. Less and less older material has come out since the economy hit the skids.

See, I was thinking just the opposite. These MOD DVDs are really great, because the studios don't have to produce 50,000 sets and then worry about them sitting on shelves.
Look at even some of the most popular shows...many of them were way overproduced. I see Dukes of Hazzard, Wonder Woman, CHiPs, Tales from the Crypt, Knight Rider, etc. in the bargain section selling for $5-10 a season, because they overestimated demand and many were returned.
The MOD DVDs mean we can get tons of titles that would never have been released otherwise.
I love my Thundarr the Barbarian set, I can tell you that!

I'm with you completely. I'm noticing more and more MOD DVDs in my collection and as much as I'd love extras, I'm just happy to get some of this stuff. F.ex., Hammer's Creatures the World Forgot was outrageously priced on VHS (+/- $100, IIRC) and wasn't available on DVD until MOD was offered last year. Now it's less than $18 on Amazon. I think She is about the same price. I need to get that, too. Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee--that's got to rock.

i think bostwick was the better character actor but for looks alone davey was Captain Marvel

Bostwick really nailed the character. He played it with great sincerity, and had the look (minus the 70s hair cut). John Davey did the best he could, but he was ill-cast for the role in my opinion.

TVLand played a handful of episodes for a few months about 8 or so years ago and I recorded them. It's all I've got of the show. I kick myself for not picking up the Isis DVD set, which now goes for big bucks on the secondary market.

                          For looks?

Davey had a gut!! He looked like a fat cowboy in a Captain Marvel costume. It was Bostwick all the way and easily.
