Spiderman....I was a shy inward kid. I identified with Peter parker...then when the mask went on and he became Spiderman he let loose....I actually learned the word sarcastic from Spiderman so when i hear the word I associate it with him....lol -
Captain America. I think Chris Evans said it best: "He's good for the sake of good." That's how I try to act.sigpic

Spidey and Cap are really the only Marvel characters that held anything close to being described as inspiration to me. Maybe Scott Summers until Claremont left the book, and Daredevil pre-Miller's darkening of the character. The rest are too compromised to merit inspiration. But, those foibles, flaws and struggles do make for more interesting reading.
DC has also dragged most of their heroes through the muck the last two and half decades to where there's not a lot of inspiration there either.Comment

Growing up, both my parents worked full time to support us, and stacks of Marvel comics were my babysitter, and I know I'm better for it.
Spider-Man taught me about responsibility.
Captain America taught me about courage.
Thor taught me about being noble.
Iron Man taught me about perseverance.
Daredevil taught me about overcoming adversity.
Hulk taught me to control my anger.
Fantastic Four taught me the importance of teamwork.
X-Men taught me to be tolerant of those who are different.Comment

I don't think I've ever been inspired by any particular hero. Truth, Justice and the American Way only gets you so far...

I identified with Spider-man because I was also the nerdy kid who was picked on.
Then later it was Wolverine because he's Canadian like me and he showed me I didn't have to put up with people's bs. I think I also learned a little bit about controlling the anger within. He was always struggling with it.
Most my heroes are DC though. I wanted to be Dick Grayson. Hang out with Batman but be the carefree happy one.Comment

them try. I'd say Superman is like that too... and like Cap, is an inspiration
for what a prototypical upstanding American should strive to be like."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
