Marvel increases the budget of Iron Man 3

Sound business move by Marvel. You could argue that the profit from the Avengers movie has already paid for the production budget for Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 for this year and Cap 2 for next year and they would still have some change left in the coffers.

Sweet! I can't wait! Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark/Iron Man. I don't think he is replaceable.

i just hope its more like Ironman 1 and not Ironman2, CAUSE TO ME, IRONMAN 2 was flat and boring, it was nearly horrible, only good thing was Black Widow.

Great news for the IM franchise! I hope this means that, if they ARE doing the EXTREMIS storyline (or a variation thereof), that we'll get some really cool effects as the virus takes over Tony's body and grafts itself to him. And it would be great to see at least one or two balls-to-the-wall throwdowns between IRON MAN and whomever the villain is. Looking forward to this....!

Good news, cause IM 2 was not a great movie.
The only Whiplash I got was from falling asleep on the couch and hurting my stiff neck when I woke up...

I think I read somewhere that Marvel admitted that they were not pleased with IM2 citing rushing to meet the deadline for its problems.

I liked certain aspects of IM 2, but overall felt it was a drop in quality from IM. It almost felt like Jon Favreau had already gotten tired of the character and Mickey Rourke didn't do anything for me as Whiplash. I liked Don Cheadle as Rhodey okay, but don't think he had the charisma that Terrence Howard had and, even though I like Sam Rockwell in most things, his turn as Justin Hammer was just too exaggerated and over the top...

I loved IM2 except for the ending. Thought Rourke was great as Whiplash, but the end just felt like a repeat of IM, with him fighting a bigger version of himself.
They need a non-armored adversary for him the third time around. I'm really hoping for Mandarin.

I didn't have a problem with Mickey Rourke. I just wish they would have cast him as Crimson Dynamo and not some hybrid with Whiplash thrown in.

IM2 was pretty good. But I didn't care for the repetition in story about his mini-chest arc reactor. I was ready to get past that after spending all of the first film on the subject. So IM2 felt a little too familiar to the first.

Iron Man 2 was just okay but not great and certainly not better than the first movie imo.

I like how even though Favreau isn't directing the third one, he still has an imput and is returning as Happy. Also, glad Shane Black is directing since he helped (with Favreau and RDJ) with the first film.
