Oh, without a doubt, it will totally make that much more. It's so good that multiple viewings won't make you sick of it, and everytime it ends, you have to see it again.

In just 19 days, it has surpassed the Dark Knight $1 Billion total already and just needs another $300 mill to over take Harry Potter to become the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time.

I got to see it, but I have to say that I felt all of the individual movies leading up to Avengers were all better stories. I enjoyed the movie, but I do have to say that I am a bit mistified at the crazy box office take. Don't know why, but the last half of the film reminded me very much of the last act of Whedon's Serenity movie, so I guess I didn't leave the theatre thinking "wow".

I finally saw the Avengers yesterday with my wife and kids. I loved it and so did my kids! It didn't appeal to my wife in the least. But then again, she's not into superheroes, either. I'm still laughing about the scene when Tony Stark asks Bruce Banner how he keeps himself from becoming upset. The list of reasons he suggests were hilarious.

I was thinking that BATTLESHIP might give THE AVENGERS a run, but after seeing THE AVENGERS, I'm thinking it may slow THE AVENGERS B.O. momentum a bit, but likely will not overtake it simply due to the fact that, IMHO, a lot of what you see in BATTLESHIP, you see IN THE AVENGERS, only along with the chaos and destruction, you get humour, superheroes and a HULK!!! I will be curious to see what impact BATTLESHIP has on our heroes, though...

Yeah, I also think The Avengers will still hold first place next week.

Battleship will pass Dark Shadows easily though.

Battleship looks like a fun flick...I'm going to check it out...lol.

You can check daily on the Box Office Mojo site...

    Box Office Mojo

It has reached one billion...passing the Dark Knight.

The new opening of Burton/Depp Dark Shadows was no match for The Avengers this weekend....lol.

Next week Battleship opens. Perhaps that one finally overtakes The Avengers?

Oh no, don't say that. I work at the movies! I've been on vacation since it came out but I'm back to work tomorrow!

I've seen it twice now. Once in Imax, then again in 3D. Hoping to take my gf's dad to see it this week.
