    Dallas Comic-Con?

Anyone going to the Dallas Comic-Con on May 19 and 20?
    www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/dcc.html

    Pretty good lineup of guests:
George Perez, Neal Adams, Stan Lee, Patrick Stewart, Adam West and Burt Ward, Kevin Conroy among others.

I hope to get on on Perez's list for a sketch. Adams always has some sketches already finished, but they are always $800 or more. Too rich for my blood.

I wish I lived near Dallas. I would love an authentic Stan Lee Autograph.

I've heard from a reliable source (our very own MIB41) that Adam West is a true feminine-hygiene product bag in person, so I'd have to think three or four times before spending a lot of time standing in line to pay an astronomical sum of money for his siggy. That's time and cash I'd rather spend on Stan Lee---a true comics icon...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I know a lot of people love them, but I've never gotten the value of autographs. Certainly wouldn't pay for one. But, I will enjoy West and Ward talking about their experiences in their panel. Same for the other guests with panels.

There is never a shortage of negative things to say about people. I try to make sure they have a clean slate with me.

One of my childhood baseball idols (Ted Simmons) was supposedly very difficult with fans. I had heard many times what a bad guy he could be. For this reason (even as an adult) I was always nervous to meet him. When I finally got the chance, he was the coolest guy on the planet. I felt like a jerk for taking other people's word for it for so long.

Here's my son and me with Ted a few years ago.

I've met West twice, once he was a huge *** and his autograph was $50, 2 years later I met him with Ward, he was happier and talked more autograph $75, too much really only spent that much on one autograph and it was Leslie Nielson

I covered a charity golf event with Leslie Nielson about 18 years ago. Yes, he had a whoopie cushion on the golf course. Followed him for about 6 holes. He was great to interview and was even better with the fans at the event. George "Spanky" McFarland was also there. Two comedy greats in my opinion.

Bill, we'll have to try to catch up with one another. Be fun to meet another mego fanatic.
