Have folks read Fury Peacemaker? It's one of my favourite Fury books. Basically it shows you how he transitioned from being just a grunt into black ops/networks/spy. Garth Ennis has been quietly doing great things with the character in Punisher Max as well.

Nick Fury (the classic Marvel universe one) is one of my favourite characters... from his WW2 stories to his SHIELD days, he's a truly great creation.

I hope Marvel will continue to give the character the respect he deserves.
