I missed the DCCP issue, but the free preview in DC Comics that month was the first time I'd ever heard of Prince Adam. I was still going by the noble barbarian deal shown in the packed-in mini comics.
James Robinson seems like a bit of an odd choice for this. But this may be the first new 52 book I'm willing to buy.
Heman was probably the first toyline i collected as a kid I like him alot.
I will definately get this, I hope its good.
I badly want He-man to get his popularity back. It would be nice to see an updated live action film (with no changes to his design). And I really want the MOTUC toyline on toyshelves.
DC does MOTU, and all the Hanna-Barbera stuff collects dust in the closet. ***?
They OWN Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, Mightor, Herculoids, Samson, Impossibles, Sealab, Frankenstein Jr., Moby Dick, on & on. How are these not being used when He-Man gets his umpteenth reboot? Wouldn't you buy Jonny Quest by Robinson & Quitely? Space Ghost by Johns & Lee?

VERY good point! Since DC has been able to use these properties I think ALL we got so far (besides the Johnny DC "Scooby Doo" comics) was the "Space Ghost" mini-series that had covers by Alex Ross. I thought they had promised at the time that Jonny Quest would get the treatment next but that never materialized.
With Space Ghosts recent brave and bold appearance, you would think that the rest of the HB heroes get leveraged by DC. I'm assuming though that there might be internal politics at play? Particularly if the licensing of HB characters were under another umbrella in the corporate hierarchy (cartoon network?)? At one point HB was under the Turner controlled part of the company, that had a rather antagonistic relationship with DC after Turner suggested that they give control over Superman et al to him to leverage.
That s probably ancient history though, since there have been HB and Cartoon Network related comics over the last decade.
