Hmmm... an interesting amalgam of the various different "S" designs from over the decades.

I like it. Love the Earth-2 feel it has.

With this film, I'm really just sitting back waiting for a good trailer. It's hard to get excited about all the conceptualization they got going on here because of all the miscues on Superman Returns. But it doesn't mean it won't work here. So I'm just reserving any definitive opinion on the subject until I see this guy in action. To me, Superman has always carried a larger-than-life presence. That isn't translating in the photos, so I'm hoping to catch that feeling when I see him on film. Fingers crossed.

I'm with MIB41. When I saw the footage Bryan Singer put together at SDCC the summer before Superman returns came out, I thought, wow, he gets it. It's going to be the Superman movie we've always wanted. But for everything Singer got right, he made a misstep, imo.

I probably love Superman lore too much to ever really like another Superman movie like I did the 78 version when it came out. It came out at the perfect time for me.

But hopefully Snyder captures the core of the character as well as giving us something new to enjoy.

But I don't think anything can be shown to me that will really excite me, until I see the what the movie is like.

Dylan Sprayberry, who plays a young Clark Kent in the new movie, has been quoted as saying this about The Man Of Steel:

...they want to give it a more edgy feel like The Dark Knight but also make it more realistic and emotional so it’s not just the all-american superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he’s a kid.

"Dilemmas and love struggles" aren't what I was hoping to see, to be honest... I want to see Superman in action!
But hopefully they'll get the balance right.

I think the most important part of Superman is his relationship struggle with Lois. She's everything to him and most the time she doesn't even realize it.

I hope it's a good movie. 1978 set the bar pretty high for Superman movies. Nobody has been able to leap it yet.
