    Green Lantern: Animated thoughts?

So now we're several episodes in, what do you guys think?

I like it a lot. I was a bit worried the premise of Hal and Kilowog stranded in the deep space with Red Lanterns would get old really quick, but so far the writers are doing a good job of really fleshing out the environment, and not concentrating on Red Lanterns every episode.

This past week's episode "Into the Abyss" felt even more Star Trek like than the previous ones. It doesn't hurt that Hal Jordan's character is very similar to that of Captain Kirk either. The show definitely has a GL/TOS mash-up feel.

I'm digging the visuals. The Timm style is translating very well to 3D, and the "effects" are very well done. This series looks better than 50% of many of the non-Pixar CGI movies of the last several years.

I have yet to see any of these. Is there a way to catch up on past episodes somewhere on the net?
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

My son and I really are enjoying them. I was able to watch full episodes on the cartoon network website, but it required I log into my comcast account to prove that I paid for cable.

I think they are very good. As Chris mentioned there's a Star Trek vibe to it that works for me. Hawkman is supposed to make an appearance down the line as well as Saint Walker and Star Sapphire. The GL movie folks made them stay away from Sinestro because they hoped not to tell the story of his fall prior to the movie.

I like the spaceship, which I never thought I would say. I always hated on super friends when GL made spaceships to fly in because he never did that in the comics, but the spaceship is a good Spock/Data/C3PO type character as well as kind of serving the role of the dog or kid in traditional cartoons.

The newer episodes of Young Justice have been good, too, particularly the one with Wally racing a heart across country to save a princesses' life.

I like the continuity of young justice so much better than the current DCpU.

I think it's good so far with potential to be great as characters develop.

I didn't realize it would be a lost in space away from everything he knows and earth and that it would feature the Red lanterns so much. But after watching it so far it is a fun series.

Being a GL fan, I'm digging on the series a lot. I really like the smooth, fluid animation they use; it seems to fit the characters well as far as flight and the use of their rings. I wasn't sure I was going to like the Razr character, but he is growing on me and I can definitely see an upcoming conflict when he runs back into the Red Lantern Corp. because he's learning that the GLs are NOT necessarily the monsters that Atrocitus painted them to be.

I also like the ship design and hope that, if they do release toys from the series, that the ship is included. I also really like the body that Aya downloaded herself into in last week's episode and need an action figure of it NOW!!!!

Overall, I'm looking forward to owning the whole season on DVD.

And Young Justice has been pretty good of late, too...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

^Yes, Young Justice has definitely picked up for me. As I said earlier, it may be because B&B is gone now, or that there is no recognizable DCU for me to turn to in comics, but I'm liking it more and more.

^Agreed. I've said it before, but I really feel that B&B was the last gasp of the old, fun, optimistic DCU that's been on life support since COIE. I can't imagine DC allowing it to go into production now. It's far too fun and light-hearted, for the most part.

Amazing! Nothing has topped the two-part opener (which got new scenes added to it a few weeks ago) but the series is very cool. Josh Keaton and KMR rock as Hal and Kilowog, and the animation is very slick and stylish. Fight scenes are exciting and the score is fantastic! In a word: 9.

I'm liking it. A little bummed that they gave us the Corps and OA in the opener and then shipped us off to the outer rim of the universe.
I figure they are setting up storylines (like the energy stones last ep) and want to start out slow and build to bigger stories but it was such a tease.
I like that Hal has his white gloves back.
