    Favorite Sunday Morning Funnies

Ok, so now that this section is called Comic Books and not SuperHeroes, I wanted to know:

1)What Sunday morning funnies were popular when you were a kid?
    2) Which ones were your faves?

I remember the following in the NY Daily News Sunday paper:
Blondie, Peanuts, B.C., Andy Capp, Dondi, Little Orphan Annie, Hagar The Horrible, Spider-Man, Family Circus, Dick Tracy, Rex Morgan, Brenda Starr, Gasoline Alley.

I'm sure I'm missing some, and they all didn't run concurrently, but my faves were:

Blondie, Peanuts, Family Circus, Spider Man, B.C., and sometimes Dick Tracy, Gasoline Alley, B.C. and Hagar.

    What about you?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

It's been a long time since I read the Sunday comics on a regular basis....nowadays the back page is a huge ad for a lumber-type company and another page is entirely devoted to puzzles and games.

But back-in-the-day I used to read Peanuts, Blondie, Broom Hilda, Shoe, Andy Cap, Hagar, Family Circus, Dick Tracy, Hi and Lois, Beetle Bailey, The Lockhorns, Wizard of Id, Bloom County, The Phantom, Mama, Calvin and Hobbes.

        Hmmmm....

We got our Sunday funnies in the Saturday paper. I used to love Dick Tracy and Bloom County. My aunt used to save the funnies from teh Toronto Sun for me. Every week they got these little comic-book lookin' supplements that had tons of comics in them. My faves used to be Lolly, and the Star Wars comic.

Our Sunday funnies as a kid sucked. The Peoria Journal Star ran all the garbage, no adventure strips. The closest thing was Mark Trail.

Anyone remember the Star Wars newspaper strip? I'm not sure if it was a Sunday or just a daily strip....

I remember the Star Wars strip but only second hand as it wasn't available in the Uk until reprinted....Used to enjoy Hagar, Garth, Judge dredd and the occasional Garfield. The only one we get now that is any good is Nemi....and although not a strip I always enjoy the Far Side.

                        HEY!

I forgot they had a Judge Dredd strip in Britain! I snagged one 2000AD reprint volume of 'em a LONG time ago. Always wished we'd got that one here. "Killjoy of the Year" is still one of my favourite stories.

Very rarely read them anymore. Not even really sure which ones are still going.

I used to enjoy, The Family Circus, Andy Capp, Blondie and Doonesbury among others.
