    Interesting that they bypassed the first Burton Batman given the avalanche of product.
    Given all the Bat-merchandise in 89, much of it is non-movie specific. Maybe DC/WB was hedging their bets in case the movie didn't do so well?

    Anyone know what this is?

    Looks foreign, obviously. They often like to redraw art. Batman is a swipe from acover by Neal Adams, and Robin is Perez from the front of NTT #1.

      I'd assume Nichoson probably had a great deal of say in how hs likeness was used as well?

        That probably had a lot to do with it too. Very little merchandise had Nicholson's actual photograph (or even likeness) on it. I believe I read where Nicholson waved part of his usual hefty fee for a piece of the licensing. I understand Keaton did quite well with his deal too, which is one reason why you haven't seen him much since Batman Returns.
