I remember being bummed that Byrne did not stay on the book.

Inks on it almost make it look more like some of Dave Cockrum's work rather than Steve Ditko's. Still nice to look at, though...!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Ditko did quite a bit of work at Marvel in the 80s that was heavily inked. Kind of funny they had to bring Ditko into "house style", when he helped build the frickin' house!!!

While I love Ditko's work on Spidey and Dr. Strange and the Charleton characters in the 60s, his stuff in the 80s just never did it for me.

But man those first three years of Spider-Man comics are really great. Romita's work is beautiful, but I liked the grit and frustration Ditko infused in his issues. They had an edge that I think was lost as the series developed.

Ditko also did an issue of Hulk in the original 6-issue run, that was really cool. Maybe No. 4 or No. 6

Byrne always said what a pain it was dealing with Lucasfilm on Indiana Jones. Shame.

That was my guess, he managed to bury Jackson Guice's style on Micronauts pretty well.

Ditko, probably didn't do heavy pencils on it, that's why it doesn't even look like his work that much......

Danny Bulanadi was the scourge of comic book inkers in the`80's. He ruined Broderick's, Kanes and Guice's work on Micronauts. I spoke w/a Marvel inker on facebook last year. I mentioned Danny Bulanadi's name and was told Marvel need inkers and they outsourced work to this guy. He didn't even live in the US.
