I've always loved this Kirby page, even with the Reinman inks, every panel just screams early Marvel. Comiclink have just sold this page for $37,899. Not bad at all. Avengers Assemble!
Gorgeous stuff! One might go so far as to say the stuff of legends! IMHO, there has been no artist since Kirby that has been able to capture that sense of dynamicism required for a superhero! There's a reason he's called King Kirby!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
They have another page from the same book in there next auction, it'll be fun to watch. Also a Ditko spiderman from issue six with a lizard appearance!

Re: Spidey 6. It might seem pedantic now considering the awesomeness of this page (12), but I used to own pages 17 & 18 (and 16 as well) which imho were the best pages in ASM 6. This back in a time when you could actually pick and choose the page that you wanted from a book and actually find it! So although this is a great page there are better ones out there from this issue.
For posting those, I remember stacks of really nice pages at wonder-con in nor cal, and them really not getting much interest (from me either) it just wasn't in my mind to collect them at that time, of course now I could kick myself as these pages are completely out of my reach now. There still are some decent deals on early silver age pages ....but very few
