Main reason, Toyroom, is I don't think they know HOW. They were all at home practicing their swipes of McFarlane, Liefeld, Lee, etc., when they SHOULD have been studying the TRUE masters of sequential art---Kirby (of course), Romita, Sr., Kane, Adams, Colan, etc.
I think that's one reason why comic book art today is so freakin' homogenized---because all the fanboys who became artists all worked to imitate who was popular at the time instead of stepping back, looking at the long, rich and varied history of comics art and finding a common ground between the two. Darwyn Cooke is able to do that, and in spades, I might add...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Cause a lot of young guys are Lazy asses who don't want to learn to master inking with a brush or even dip pen......they use stupid little markers, instead of being a PRO and mastering what the MASTERS learned......
When I was young I wanted to be like my art heros. I wanted to use the same tools they used and I learned to use them.........
Also style wise most young guys go with what ever trendy look the books have to get work.....Comment

How great would it be if DC would scratch the Minute Men Before Watchman and have Cooke do a JSA mini-series?
That Power Girl's great. Kind of has the feel Wally Wood gave the character back in the 70s.
Love the Batman and Wonder Woman sketches that are up for bid, too.
Cooke's homage to Infantino is pretty neat, but I'd like to see it in his style.Comment
