First Official The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Action Figure Photo

I like it. Looks like all the pictures we've seen of the costume (except he has silver eyes! Yes!). I also like the detail of the web-shooter. I also like how his hand can make the web-shooting gesture (since it looks like all of the fingers can move....on a second glance I might be wrong about that).

No offense meant towards you whatsoever, O:M, but that has got to be one of THE worst action figures I've ever seen. I can smell the stench of it through my computer screen!!! UGH!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I have no problems with the suit design. Kinda like it actually. The figure, though, looks sloppily sculpted and poorly constructed. The joints and articulation are not impressive at all. This will go down as just another half-assed movie tie-in figure. His left hand tells us he's a DIO fan.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Sloppily sculpted? It's 100% movie accurate as far as I can tell, and the texturing and detail is amazing for a 3 3/4 inch figure. As for the articulation, it looks pretty articulated to me. What exactly would you have done differently? I'm sorry, but I just don't see anything half-assed here.

I hope this is a prototype, cause the shoulder joints are off, the upper torso piece is off and the paint is very poorly done, especially the black trim. I hadn't realized this was the smaller version, I was subconsciously comparing to DCU CLassic and most of the Marvel legends. I'll be careful with my opinions from now on...

Definitely a prototype; I saw similar pics from various Toy Fair feeds. A lot of those pieces will be molded color plastic for the production run (a giveaway is the grey showing near the shoulder joint - should be red or blue plastic when all's said and done).

The detailed texture is also throwing off the look of the figure, too. It is amazing(!) at the level of detail available for a figure so small, but aesthetically, it could hurt the look of the figure as well - the texture casts odd shadows on the figure here and there, muddying up the colors a bit, making him look a bit "dirty". But, I've heard such aspersions to the new Spidey movie costume as well, and find it hard to disagree with the opinion. The black "netting" over the movie bodysuit doesn't do the design any favors.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I assumed it was a prototype and my comments were based off of my assumption. I guess I should have made that clear.

As a rule I think all standard movie merchandise are 'disposable goods'. None of it has lasting appeal and is only purchased as a feel good item to celebrate a movie coming out. It all eventually finds its way to the bottom of a box or on a table as yard sale fodder. The toy companies make easy money and the consumer has nothing to show for it.

The only Spider-man figure I have really ever liked was MEGO!!
