And yet for Nolan's films, we can barely see it, since it's blended in to his (Batman's) armor.
Yeah---that's one of my HUGE pet peeves with Batman in the Nolanverse; they seem so determined to ground it all that they almost treat the "bat" aspect as an after thought...
BTW, thanks for your kind words; they're much appreciated.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
love the wings. maybe someone from hollywood will see this thread and convince the FX dept to CG in a set for the movie.
Thanks. Glad you like 'em. I really think that Cap needed his wings to complete the helmet. Ironically, I got the wings from a replica of the Thor helmet; I just trimmed them down and adjusted their angle in Photoshop, then plugged them into the sides of the helmet. Without 'em, the helmet just looks goofy and has no texture.
I was going to try to get his ears out, too, but there wasn't quite enough resolution in the picture to do that.
I may try another variation if I can find a higher res picture to work with and make some other adjustments, too...

Nice photoshop job. I do like the wings. I'm afraid the larger neck would impede his movement, ala Michael Keaton though.
I wonder if the internet was around in 1978, would we have been picking apart Chris Reeve's Superman suit? Or in 1951, George Reeve's? "His cape is too low in the back; his 'S' shield is too square", etc. I'm sure Adam West would have been ripped to shreds over his "panty-hose".
Here's an the image of Cap from the previous photo in this here thread. It was actually "clean" enough for me to take it into Photoshop and do some rudimentary manipulations on it and get him looking to closer what, IMHO, might've made Cap fans happier....
You'll notice that I got rid of the ridiculous (and distracting) zipper that goes up his midsection and into his chest; I enlarged the star on his chest since that is to Cap what Batman's bat is to him; I made the sleeves on his suit white all the way down; I browned his belt so it provides a bit of separation on his torso; I brought the cowl down across his shoulders so that it ties in more to the chestpiece; I darkened the front of the cowl and enlarged the "A" (like they should have done!) and, last, but certainly not least, I gave him what I think are a fairly convincing pair of wings on his helmet that are dimensional, but don't look silly---at least IMHO...

THANK YOU! See? See what a very talented and amazing bro I've known for 30 years? Great job man. EXACTLY what it needs.

Thanks for the kind words, Chris. I thought about Michael Keaton's restricted head whilst adding the bulk to Cap's headgear and basically just reasoned out that if it were sort of a kevlar drape attached to the back/sides of the cowl and attached loosely to the tunic body, he would still have full head rotation, but would look cooler...!

The Batman suit in the second and now third movie are abominations....
