    New AVENGERS pic...

A better picture of the previous picture From EMPIRE Magazine

This picture does NOTHING to instill any confidence in my that Cap's "modern" uniform looks anything but *******. Whomever designed it should be flogged heartily. He just looks plain silly, especially his head/face area. I guess now we know why he spends a lot of time in the movie with the cowl off...

To be honest, IMHO, all three of them look like a bunch of comicon cosplayers, but usually the cosplayers costumes are better....

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Lol's, that's probably the only shot that you will get in the whole movie with Cap's helmet on.

I'm not really lovin' Cap's new mask...I like the WW2 one better. Strangely though, I don't really care if he wears a mask in the movie, just as long as he has the Costume on.
I could be wrong...but it seems to me that Marvel has never made a big deal about Cap's secret identity. It seems like everyone knows Cap is Steve Rogers. Plus, He lives at the Avengers mansion...so maybe it's not necessary?

I think people are underestimating the art of this scene. It had to take alot of discipline to keep a straight face in those hammy outfits. This registers F_A_I_L across the board. Hawkeye has no business wearing a sleeveless shirt if his arms don't look strong enough to lift a five pound weight. And Cap... It's beyond ridiculous. Maybe we'll be wrong about all the hero films this summer and they will all tank. It's hard to understand the mentality of studios when they release pics like this. It just sucks the ethusiasm right of me.

People complain if the studios change the heroes costumes to something more relateable to real life; hence the X-Men. People complain if the studios make the uniforms too comic-bookish; hence The Avengers. Someone will always complain either way the studios do it. Me, I am thrilled to see some of my favorite comic book characters brought to life. Dress them however they want, I will pay for the ticket either way.

I'll admit this photo isn't that thrilling, BUT that's not the fault of the costume dept. It's the PR dept for releasing such a dull photo. I think Disney's PR arm is going too far to keep the story and villains ambiguous, hence these static shots we keep getting. If memory serves me right, the few leaks we got of Cap from his movie were action shots, so of course his costume is going to look better.

The split down the middle of Cap's right shoulder also makes him look smaller since he's missing part of his shoulder. That helps to make his head look more bulbous than it probably is.

It does seem Disney's PR dept is not doing too good a job of fueling the excitement that is already there for this film. Maybe what were seeing is that Paramount is just better at this sort of thing?

Joss Whedon has my complete confidence.

It's kinda hard to judge a photograph (or rather a screen capture) of people in mid walk. It's not a flattering picture to be sure. They should have gone with something else.

That Hawkeye just kills it for me. Recently in comics, Hawkeye stopped wearing his mask. Come on! I hate it when an actor's priority of his "pretty boy" face has to been seen.
Remember the infamous Topher Grace Venom thing? If you can't play the roll with your face covered up then go away. I would have loved to seen Hawkeye's fancy mask on that actor!!!

Hawkeye should have purple sleeves and then I think he would look better.

If ever there was a face that needs a mask, that guy that's Hawkeye is it.

Wow, they've managed to grab a shot of Scarlett Johansson looking plain (and slightly stupid).

                              PR? lol.
