Alan Moore on the growing use of Guy Fawkes masks in protests

("Gulp" - I hope this one goes well...)

I hope everyone understands that I'm NOT trying to create a political discussion. Posting this is NOT meant to instigate endorsements or critiques of Moore's opinions - or the opinions of various protests and political agendas.

I'm only posting this because I know there are a few people on here who are going to be interested in Alan Moore's new article:

BBC News - Viewpoint: V for Vendetta and the rise of Anonymous

    Cheers everybody!

He acknowledges the role of Guy Fawkes, the existence of Fawkes masks before V for Vendetta, and the crucial role of the "V for Vendetta" movie (which he insisted to have nothing to do with) in the rising usage of the Guy Fawkes mask. He even credits the charismatic grin, which I would assume he had nothing to do with either.

And yet, he does it in a way that still comes off like somehow he deserves all the credit. An ego like that usually makes me hate the guy... but for whatever reason, I always forgive Moore (and even applaud) Moore's nuttiness.

I like how Time-Warner makes money every time an anti-corporation protestor buys one of those masks like the good consumers they are.

Moore might have indeed inspired Anonymous to a degree, but I will never believe posting goatse links and underage Japanese tentacle hentai on 4chan was his idea.

It's been a bad week for Moore from a hypocrisy standpoint
