    Avengers Super Bowl ad

Didn't really show much beyond what we've seen, but then that is probably a good thing. I don't want to see the whole movie before May. Hulk does indeed look more like the classic comic look than previous two movies. His green is somewhere in-between the two versions, but closer to the Norton flick.

I watched the extended version of this on the Avengers facebook page. I almost thought Cap was going to shout "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!"...

Someone had better say that in the course of this movie. I watched G.I. Joe for two hours waiting for a "YO JOE!" and got nuttin'!!!

I was disappointed with the brevity of the commercial....

Allow me to preface my comments by saying I'm a HUGE Whedonhead. Loved Buffy. Loved Angel. Loved Firefly. Loved SERENITY. Dollhouse----ehhh---okay, not Whedon at his best.

I want to LOVE this movie the same way I loved Buffy and Angel and Firefly and the first IRON MAN and THOR. BUT----I'm not getting that vibe and that disappoints me.

I mean, it all LOOKED okay with the exception of a few spots where the FX are obviously still "under construction." I didn't like the lack of a clearcut villain aside from Loki (even though Loki will likely wind up a pawn of whomever the actual villiain is). It would've been cool, if THANOS IS the big bad as is being said, to have seen just a hint of him (maybe a dark shot with just his eyes glowing and teeth showing ala Darkseid after the titlecard came up).

Like Toyroom,I also don't like Stark's brevity, as if he's really not treating this seriously at all. I think I would've liked it better if the dialogue between he and Loki were more like:

      LOKI: I have an army.
STARK: I'll see your army and raise you a Hulk.

I think that would've given it a bit more gravitas and would've shown that even having a Hulk was a gamble. The way he spouts the line "We have a Hulk" was just a little too much like his line from IM 1 "The best weapon is the kind you only have to use once." Besides, him stating we "have" a Hulk would indicate that they have some type of control over what has been, up to now in the MHU (Marvel Hollywood Universe) a mindless, rampaging behemoth. I'll be curious to see how they solve that. I hope and pray that it's not because Stark implants some cybernetic control chip into Banner's brain, because then the movie really WILL basically be IRON MAN & FRIENDS, which is not what I want to see. Besides, the real powerhouse of this movie should STILL be Thor. In any given situation of combat between the Thunder God and The Hulk, Thor usually comes out on top.

And, as much as I like Scarlett Johannsen, in this movie, I think they should've thought about recasting the role with someone else 'cause in the group shot, she looks ridiculously inadequate and her gun even moreso. Now someone like Amanda Righetti (from "The Mentalist") (see below)

would've been a perfect recast for "THE AVENGERS" because she looks a bit like Johanssen, but she's much taller and bigger in stature, not to mention, IMHO, a better actress.

Rant off. More later as more reactions surface....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Amanda Righetti was in the Cap film already so they can't replace Scarlet with her.

Actually I was referring to the length of the commercial....it wasn't as long as I had expected it to be...

Sorry, dude, my bad!!! I, too, however, thought it was a bit short....

I think Stark's comments are in keeping with his character from the previous films. Even when he's in way over his head he keeps the Stark Snark on.

I did think the commercial was a bit short (esp. compared to Battleship (?) and others), but then I kind of like that we don't know EVERYTHING about this movie. I think they've done a good job of getting enough stuff out there to appease the fanboy press without giving everything away.

She was the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (Sharon Carter?) at the end of the movie ...

I thought the trailer was PERFECT. It showed me enough to get my inner child drooling with excitement but didn't give away everything, and that final exchange between Loki and Tony Stark was EPIC.

I guess for a Superbowl spot I was hoping for something a little more informational. Nothing really here we haven't already seen, so it was pretty forgettable.

When he wakes up in modern times, Amanda Righetti was the woman who greets him... SHIELD Agent Sharon Carter. Hoping for a big role for her in Captain America 2.
