Only one word can describe that: SWEEEEET!! Simonson's THOR, IMHO, ranked right up there with some of the Lee/Kirby epics....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Is it a guest shot or is he on the book for awhile?

Even if its just for a cover, that is a joyous picture above.

Even though it's colored "new school", it's nice to see old school pencils instead of all of these photoshop filters they're using all the time..

^ No, I'm talking about how a lot of the modern artists are using all of this filters and effects to blur and add all of this "depth" to the artwork so it looks like a video game....May it is more of the colorist? I dunno...

Simonson just did the guest artwork in the latest issue of "Legion of Super-Heroes" (#5) and it's 1000% better than the artists that have been working on the title the last few years.

That Thor piece is just beautiful. I miss Simonson so much on a monthly title i cant stand. If he started on thor again on a monthly basis it would make my day.....no! My month!

I was gonna comment on the same thing! It's refreshing to see an artist let their work stand on its own merits instead of mucking it up with a bunch or Photoshop filters and splashy SFX. Sometime less more and on Simonson's case, more is much, much better! Plus, I love that he's still using his "Simonsonsaurus" signature! Met him at a couple of cons----he's a very cool guy!
