    I have Not read .....

    A NEW Comicbook in 2 Months .
Mainly because I work so much, and customize, watch Movies and Hang with the Kiddies .... I just haven't had time to Purchase them.

I'm mostly a DC Guy ...., But sorta just am not interested in the "NEW" 52 like I was with the Old Universe. The "Need and Feening" for a new issue has left me rather stale since Blackest Night to be Honest. I like some of the New books ..., but the "Wanting" just seems not to be there .

Perhaps things will change once I finally get off my Arse and get to the CB Store .... , But I got 4 Days off, with nothing New to read ..., And I sorta Don't care when I actually think about it.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I'm reading old stuff lately and online reading OMAC and Frakenstein. Batman:Leviathan for some dumbass reason won't be available for download. Maybe DC is throwing brick and mortar a bone with Morrison's finale in the Batman universe. Mostly been picking up Marvel Masterworks in softback and Marvel monster reprints.

I go thru little spurts where i wont read a thing for a month or so. Lately its been 70s spiderman and a little bit of JLA. Really these are my favorite books of all time though (along with superman). Havent read any of the dc relaunch stuff ive sorta gotten tired of the constant redo's over the years. It seems like its been going on constantly since Heroes reborn since the nineties. Some of the 52 stuff i have seen though looks pretty good and i sorta want to.

I think you might like Aquaman, GL, Justice League, Batgirl and maybe Batman, but none of them are must reads.

Captain America and Bucky, and Daredevil are my favorites from Marvel, but again not must reads.

Batwoman and Flash are interesting mainly for the way the artists lay out the books, particularly Batwoman.

Finch's Batman book is a lousy read but it looks great. Same can be said for Adams' Batman book, in my opinion.

I think the 2 Superman books are fun and the Wonder Woman book is pretty good, too.

But its harder and harder to justify buying comics at the price they are today, particularly when there are so many comics characters on the big screen.

I can really see me going the way of the trades soon. I've tried digital, but it's not the same feel.

But if you're fine with not reading them, just save the cash.

        Anyway, have a great Christmas.

Yeah, digital is annoying to me, too. Maybe it will be better if I get a tablet or whatever.

I've cut back quite a bit since pre-52....The only ones of the 52 that I'm still buying (after trying a lot of others) are:

            Green Lantern
            Aquaman
            Batman
            Wonder Woman
            Justice League
            All-Star Western
            Batwoman
            I Vampire
            Swamp Thing (on the fence)
            Action Comics

Thats the Thing .... I got the 1st couple of issues to all of these ..., But The Feening for Must reads just wasn't there. Perhaps if I can finally get to a CB Store opnions will change, but the desire for the quest is just not present at this time.

I think I am completely Burnt out with consistant issue Drags of The re-telling of origon stories laced with the need to set up stories. Thats what I hate about Comicbook Movies ..., and don't need to read that Every issue in a Comicbook. I know the characters, been at it for 25+ years.

Thats what i liked about John Byrnes Next Men. It always stated a recap on the first page. Of course, alot of the writers these days arent in his caliber either.

                  Hmmmm....

Could be an opportunity to try something new. Something REALLY new.... There's so much available these days you could bebop around the nearest book store and pick up something you might normally never have tried.

I feel your pain. I have not read a comic in months and I do not care to. For me they have restarted the universes two too many times.

Flash, Wonder Woman, Batwoman, and All Star Western are the strongest titles of the New 52. Or at least I think so anyway.

Not much on my MUST read list these days...

                        Fantasic Four
                        SHIELD
                        FF
                        walking Dead
                        fables
                        Rachel Rising
                        Swamp Thing
                        scalped

The novelty of these are that I'm feeling like there are elements and complexities or characters that seem surprising to an admittedly jaded reader like myself. It's pretty tough for me to Lose myself in a story these days. Hickman in particular is incredibly adept at taking so many cliched concepts, throwing them all into the mix on slow burn to create something frankly astonishing with his intertwined narratives in FF, SHIELD, and Famtadic Four. He's got so many moving pieces going on across so many fields of play, it does make for some bravura spectacle. Time travel, parallel universes, cosmic war, the entire Marvel U dovetailing into a marvel remix concept album borrowing heavily from Stan, Jack, Byrne, Millar, Waid, and a host of others I'm probably not aware of. With relatable humans themes at the heart of it... Fear of your children, fear of yourself, fear of the future, fear of death, the struggle of the family dynamic, Etc.

Off the top of me head. Aquaman, JL, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Animal Man mostly feel like junk food reading these days. Pleasurable, but nothing particularly new despite the big marketing push to make folks think otherwise. If anything, it's the return to the nineties with the Bombastic in your face Image approach on some books, and the dark edgy Vertigo approach on others.

I've been wondering how long until we get a deconstruction of the reboot thing. Kinda how 80's stuff took the old, tired superhero cliches, ratched them up and provided a different perspective on the whole affair. Damage Control, Marvels, The Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, even things like The Hero Alliance.... they required the reader be familiar with the tropes, and in many cases the history behind such things.

                          We're about due, I'd say.

Alan Moore played around with the self aware rebooting multiverse concept in Supreme for Rob Liefeld's Awesome Comics, however that storyline remains unfinished, although Liefeld claims that Eric Larson will finishing it with 90's Supreme coming in to beat up Moore's incarnation.

Grant Morrison's has also played around with it in Animal Man and returned to it recently in Final Crisis/Superman Beyond, but his feels rather esoteric and a nudge wink that plays to the reboot idea rather than in any form of opposition to it beyond the awareness. We'll see how his Multiversity series pays out when it's released.

Haw! Reminds me of the scene from Normalman where Captain Everything summons the alternate Everything's 'cos he doesn't want to get stuck on monitor duty. But it's still not quite a full blown rethinking, since they all still operate within the framework of the rehash.
