Also Azzerello has fun with phonetic and written word dialogue that only works in the foemat of comic books. A Technique he used quite a bit in 100 bullets.
As much ad I loved Perez's 80's reinvention of Ares as mArvin the Martian, this new incarnation is pretty original and intriguing, as much of the new versions of the Greek Gods ave been in this book.

From the looks of that first page I really like Cliff Chiang's art. I love comic artists that embrace cartooning like that. The colours look great too!Comment

Not sure if it's the fact that he's working with Azzerello, but I'm feeling like I'm seeing a bit of 100 bullets's Eduardo Risso influencing the art in terms of body language and approach to figure and locale.
Chiang has shown a very versatile range of style over the years. His Creeper was hugely underrated. It felt like Michael Lark through the filter of Teddy Kristianson..
