Well, the rumor was in the early script...was that the formula would actually transform him into a Goblin...and then back to human again of course.
At the time I wasn't sure how I felt about that. But Sam Rami's stance was that it would make no sense from Norman to just go and put on a Halloween costume.

Yes, but the shade greener might have looked cartoony. Do we assume that is a mask he wears as the goblin? Even tho Osborne's mouth seems to be real? Or a Dr. Jeckyl transformation/deformation after using the serum?Leave a comment:

I too think that make up / mask is awesome but honestly I don't think it would have worked as well as the final product considering the rest of the look of the movie. Too cartoony when compared to the rest of the costume, sets, etc...Leave a comment:

Seeing that bums me out. It would have been AMAZING!I think his face should have been a shade greener though.

^ Especially when you consider what a terrific actor Willem Defoe is.Leave a comment:

I hated the end product for the Green Goblin in the first movie! The studios have a way of ****ing the fans off by changing things around too much. This original version would have been amazing!Leave a comment:

Ive always felt there was alot of pull and shove between Raimi and the studio that becomes more apparent in the last installment. Done completely his way it probably would have been much closer to the original material especially since he was a fan of the character growing up.Leave a comment:

I do wonder what it was about this version that they didn't like? Whose decision it was to NOT use it?
Interesting and cool to have been able to see. Thanks for posting!!Leave a comment:
