Crayola Story Studio Spiderman Comic Book set

Has anyone gotten this yet? I just bought one for myself, although I haven't tried it yet. It looks pretty cool though. With the code that's enclosed, you can go to the Crayola website, and you (or your kid) can make a template of himself to put in the comic he makes about Spiderman! Pretty awesome, although I do wish they made a Batman one. I think the other 2 available are Princesses and Cars.

I'm sure it's pretty cool, but I'm a professional artist so I tend to draw everything with my kid off the top of my head...... I encourage my daughter to use her imagination rather than prefix templates....but more power to those who want to buy it......

Actually that's pretty cool...I dig it.

I also draw (although not professionally)...but this would be cool to own...you could hook up different family and friends...make them comic book characters (without taking forever to draw)...print...and bind all the pages together...and give out very cool comic books as presents with them as comic book heroes...that would be unique and awesome.

            Good stuff, Sharry!

Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing. seems like creativity is being sucked out of stuff like this. The Lego preplanned liscensed sets are another good example.

I was just thinking it would be cute for little kids. Like 4-6 years old. More like a game then art. It could inspire them to draw on their own too.

I draw with my niece everytime she comes over (as I'm an artist as well) and she's only four but can draw really well for her age. I also got the Wii Draw Tablet and she thinks that is a lot of fun.

I'm all for creative drawing too, but not everyone is an artist, and a lot of kids would like to put themselves in a comic. change things around, and make an adventure w/ their favorite hero. As much as I don't like tech-y stuff, I really think this is cool.

Besides, when you think about it, it's really no different than a coloring book.

Uh oh. Given the hipster clip art comic book culture out there, I'm just imagining the badness that can happen if this falls into the wrong hands.

Hopefully crayola will have a swears filter, at least that way misuse will have to have some degree f creativity to get around it.

Just hope they remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
