would love to see Gulliermo Del Toro take a crack at the Marvel universe somewhere, but I think he's not a good fit for an established franchise with a look already in place. Mybe he'd be the guy to reboot the FF, and he's been mentioned in conjunction with Dr. Strange.
Just had another thought, too. The director or "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" would probably be a good choice for THOR, too....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

It's probably not going to be anyone like that - they're probably going to go down a list and end up with someone not too well known, who meets their basic criteria and is available. Any of the guys you're talking about probably has the next 5 years mapped out in front of them.
It's probably not going to be anyone with a developed and known style - in any case. It's part 2 for one thing - so "vision" isn't really what they're going to be looking for. The other thing is two directors left - so my guess is the script stinks.Comment

This news does not bode terribly well for the second installment of the God of Thunder. MARVEL and Paramount are gonna have to scramble now to find someone to direct this thing and I only hope that doesn't mean it's going to be some rushed P.O.S. like X3 was.
Who do you guys think should take a crack at Thor? MIB41 and I were talking earlier this week about POTC and (although I've never seen any of them) they LOOK huge and impressive and THAT'S what THOR needs. Perhaps MARVEL could talk Gore Verbinski into helming it?
My first choice would be Peter Jackson, but he's busy HOBBIT-ing around right now....
So----who else?
Feel free to comment and suggest, please...!Comment
