No joke--I thought it was coming out next summer, since it's wrapping filming shortly. At least we'll have The Dark Knight Rises, John Carter, and The Hobbit in 2012. If we're lucky, the Star Trek sequel will be out. It's supposed to be, but they don't even start filming until next year, so I'm doubtful.

Man of Steel was originally slated for Christmas of 2012, but WB decided to make it a tentpole for the next summer.

Sorry but Superman Iv is dreadfull and 3 is really only watchable becuse of Pryor. I loved Chris but I will not discount a future franchise. I am in wait and see mode. I didn't hate Routh as superman but I didn't love the vision Singer had with his love letter to Donner.

one day a superman film will be made that has the plot and a villian good enough to be put along side Superman the movie and superman II (modern effects make that a no brainer) I just hope it's sooner rather than later

I'm amazed at the fact I'm in the minority that didn't love the Chris Reeves Superman.. he was great as Clark but i never saw a difference in Clark/Superman, and all the added powers were just horrible. mind control??teleportation? flying S?
and worst of all the time travel mess?? I'm still waiting for a Superman movie i can call good. til then it's George Reeves as superman

Your post baffles me. No other actor has made such a difference between Superman and Clark. I could believe that even Lois would have a hard time believing Reeve's Kent is Superman.

I really like Reeves superman but I would like someone a little more beefier in the part. Sort of in the middle of the looks of Reeves with the presence of the actor from the old superman tv show. (sort of like the Alex Ross paintings)
As for chris Reeves protrayal of Clark/Supes i always thought he did a great job. He did what was written. I thought he brought alot of humanity to superman while making Clark look like a "act".

see i think he just played Supes as too "golly gee Lois" but i could put up with that, it really was all the extra powers and the ending to the first one that killed me. don't get me wrong I didn't hate them, I just didn't love them as much as everyone else did.

I never liked the script's or Reeve's portrayal of Clark. It was way too campy and silly and unbelievable. Same with Otis and and Luthor. But the first Superman film got so much right. Loved Krypton and Smallville, Superman's first appearance montage, the helicopter rescue and his rescue of California and the tracking down of the bombs.

At one time I really loved Superman II. I actually preferred it to the first film because of the fights. It's by no means a bad movie. It's a good one, both cuts. But as years go by I have more and more issues with it.
