Wow, naming only 5 is tough, so I'll have to add a few extra:
Jack Kirby
John Romita Sr
Neal Adams
John Buscema
John Byrne
George Perez
Jim Steranko
Dave Cockrum
Howard Chaykin
Carmine Infantino
Jim Aparo
Ross Andru
Jose Luis Garcia Lopez

And the legendary Frank Frazetta, and also Ralph McQuarrie for his awesome paintings and concept art.
There are a bunch of others whose work I like, too. But the list could go on for about 50 names so I'll stop there.Last edited by Bruce Banner; Nov 11, '11, 5:24 AM.Leave a comment:

I love Lou Fine and Bernard Bailey's work from the Golden Age and Burne Hogarth, Alex Raymond and Milton Caniff's work from the comic strips of the 30s and 40s.
There's a lot of great newer artists working today and as nice as their work is, it just doesn't capture my heart like my favorite artists of my youth. I still read a lot of comics today, but I don't have the time to re-read them and pour over them over and over like I did as a kid.Last edited by madmarva; Nov 8, '11, 2:44 AM.Leave a comment:
